i considered it, but unless you have talent, time, and help, my opinion is that it's worth it not to add this additional stress and just pay for a simple (simple is always better) boquet. i am getting a hand boquet of mini calla lillies tied in satin ribbon.

I did make my own

I made my own bouquets and centerpeices. It was so much cheaper but it does take time. I personally love doing stuff like that so I never even considered going to a florist. This was a huge way for us to save money. If you are considering it you should go to Michaels. They have really great stuff there. Good Luck

Michaels

Do they have a website? Oh wait a minute is this Michael's the art & craft store? Did you have real flowers? If its a matter of saving money, I am willing to do them on my own. I am pretty crafty sort of speak and my mom and aun'ts love this kind of stuff so I know I will have the hands. I need to cut costs as much as possible, me and my FI need to purchase a home/condo too besides prepare for a wedding.

Nina

Is it less expensive to go with a flower that is in season besides roses? No offense ladies roses are beautiful, but I want my flowers to be different especially since we are getting married in March. I was thinking calla lillies or Lily of the valleys for my bouquet and a mix for the MOH and flower girls. I am having a flower girl and a junior bride.

My FI and I needed to cut costs too and I felt that since I was crafty the flowers should be one of the places. I already made my bouquets and most of the centerpeices (The flowers are artificial). I thnk they came out beautiful and they look very professionally done. I think you should go for it. I had a lot of fun doing it too.

Colleen

I kind of wanted real flowers but am willing to give it a try on the artificial ones. At least these would last longer! :-) If you don't mind me asking how much did it come out to to do all the bouquets? Where did you get the supplies?

I understand what you mean about the real flowers. I was a little disappointed also however the past three weddings that I went to had artificial flowers that were made by professionals. I priced the artificially, professionally made flowers and they are not cheap. That is when I decided to try it myslef. All the flowers (bouquets and center peice flowers) came out to about $185. Then the vases were about $1.00 each. I also bought white and pink tool to decorate the inside of the vases so that you would not see the artificial stems, they were about $3.99 each. Then I bought pink and white ribbon to tie around the outside of the vases and bouquets ($1.99 per roll). I bought a little bit of everything first just to test it and make sure that I could do this. When the first few came out nice I knew I could do it all. I got everything at Michaels arts and Crafts. They have everything there including a wedding section and books if you think you need them. If you have an email address I will try to take a picture of the flowers and send them to you so you can get an idea of what they look like.
