Anyone crash dieting?

Anyone crash dieting?

I lost a bit of weight, but I still don't feel confident for my dress. Most of it is because I need to work out. How much can one accomplish in a month?

Don't crash diet!!! Once you go on the HM, you'll gain all the weight back and then some. If you watch your portions and exercise, you should be able to lose a couple of pounds.

Definitely not the way to go....it'll make you sick & you'll gain the weight right back. You also don't want to be weak that day & just not look healthy. You still have time to lose weight....do it the healthy way

DONT DO IT!!!

I actually had a theory about gaining/loosing weight for my wedding... i told a few of my students and they thought it was funny and that i was insane, but here goes:

I decided that i was paying a photog a lot of $$ to take photos on my wedding day... photos that will last a lifetime... anyway, later in life, i would rather look back at those photos and say... eww look how chunky I was, and look how great i look now... then it going the opposite way!

where did i get this insane theory from??? my mom and other women i know always looks back at her wedding album when she was 97 lbs and feels bad about herself because she doesnt look like that anymore and it is always, look how skinny i looked, and they use it as a marker... so i figured that the opposite would make me feel great later in life... so no dieting for me!! especially with that corset back on my dress! It was expandable!!

I agree with everyone else. That is not healthy for you. The best thing is to step up your workout regimen and watch what you eat.

I don't think I want to lose weight per se...I just need to tone up my arms...A LOT! I was looking at a pic of me in my dress from the back and it just does not look good. My arms are definitely a trouble spot. Any suggestions of some simple exercises?

weight training and cardio should help your arms.. but no crash dieting. you will lose muscle. the muscle will eat more of the calories and burn fat faster.

I didn't crash diet but I did go on the treadmil and I lifted 8 lb weights every day for a few months before the wedding to tone up. By the time the last 2 weeks before the wedding came, I had no time to excercise and I was running around like a lunatic so I ended up losing weight during those weeks. Between my last fitting (4 days before my wedding) and my wedding day, I had lost even more weight and had to stuff my dress with tissue

Don't crash diet, it's not healthy and you need your energy to get through the chaos of the last few weeks - trust me it happens naturally!

Wow! Same here...

I have made an effort not to eat carbs and it has made a difference...

Apparently I am a carbaholic but these South Beach people are right - you cut it out and you lose weight.

Of course - as soon as I eat it (Can we say Italy honeymoon?)- it will all come back again but I am cool with that!

I've been going to the pool every day and devoting about half my laps to breast stroke and sidestroke on alternating sides. I'm thinking of adding water weights for more resistance. Also we have a stationary bike from sharper image that's just the pedals, on the box it suggests putting it on a table and putting your hands where your feet normally go for an arm workout, I was going to try that next.

Re: Anyone crash dieting?

I started working out (classes/cardio) back in January....then in June I slacked off with the end of school and stuff, now I am back and stepped up my cardio - I lost some weight and toned up a bit but nothing terribly crazy. I feel good and I loved the way my dress looked last week when I tried it on....as for the arms, there are always certain poses that are not flattering for arms - I will just have to deal with it.
