I shouldnt be so hard on myself. I had a baby 10 months ago...But that's plenty of time to get to my goal....135...When I started WW in January I was 189 and now I'm 164. and i feel like there is no excuse for me not to be my goal by now. i actually stopped ww for 2 months because i was cheating a lot. i cant seem to stick to anything and if im not thin by my wedding ill be so hurt. im starting low carb tomorrow with my boss as well as the WW meetings. Do you girls think I could lose a decent amount in 3 months on low carb?? i have to do this..

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
I lost a lot on low carb...but as in any diet, you have to be realistic...losing too much too fast is dangerous! Also, be prepared for stalls on any diet...I am (grr) going through one which is a pain! But with diet and workout, you should be fine! Also realize you will be a beautiful bride no matter what you weigh! Just don't give up!

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
It is possible to do that on a low carb diet but be prepared I was on Atkins before my sisters wedding and after I reached my goal and I did look fantastic, you gain the weight back and them some. Since then I had the hardest time losing weight finally a friend told me about a diet drug prescription called Phentermine, ask your doctor first if he will give it to you, mine wouldn't, so I went the online pharmacy way. 4 months ago my weight was 217 now it's 185 with 10lbs til I reach my wedding goal weight.
It doesn't make you jittery at all.

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
I think the best way to lose weight is to diet and exercise. About five years ago, I took up running again. Within a short period of time, there was a dramatic change in my body and people noticed. I started off slowly at first, but now I could run for hours.

I totally agree. WW is definitely the better option over no carb. Try the Core program. It's similiar to no carb, but healthier, more balanced. And exercise more.
Don't be to hard on yourself. I was 189 in January and I'm only 179 now. 25 pounds in 4 months is a lot of weight. If you stick to the program you'll do fine.

I totally understand. I've been doing WW on and off for over 3 years now. I know if I had stuck to it the first time around, I'd have been where I want to be for 2 years already. But I cheat and slack, so I lose slowly. Don't beat yourself up over what you 'could' have done because you can't change it. Just try and be more dedicated now. But I really do understand, I get down on myself alot. Hang in there, you'll be beautiful!

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?

I've ben doing great but I felt discouraged ysterday. I got weighed and I actually gained a little weight but I knew I didn't do good. Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
It is so much easier to be good during the week. Saturday is my cheat dauy I have to have it or I will lose my mind. I was pretty good today I had some snacks but I do the flex points for WW. And I overestinare and knock down all my weekly allowance points. I MUST be good all week and have to hit the gym 4 times! We need to help keep each other motivated!

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
Dieting S****. I am the heaviest I have ever been and I can't believe I am getting married in 2 months. The day I have always waited for and I am fat. It is so stressful and hard trying to lose weight.

There is nothing that gets me more depressed and stressed than my weight. It is a pain.

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
Oh man. . .that's great. I have no motivation now. It can't possibly get any worse.
I followed a low carb diet for years and was always very thin on it. I stopped and gained about 7 pounds. I started again last week and I am down 4 lbs. I don't plan on doing low carn forever but I have 2 months to the wedding and would like to be down another 5 lbs or so. Yo defnitely can lose a decent amount of weight but i noticed once I stopped following the low carb I put a few pounds on. Good luck!!
And congrats on your weight lose thus far!

Re: Anyone depressed about their weight?
I hate that feeling, when you're mad at yourself because you think you should have done better and all the while others are telling you you look fine!! One thing I have learned the hard way is that if you start off a day doing badly, you don't have to turn the whole day into a failure. In the past, if I ate chocolate or something during the day, I'd give in to all my other cravings later on that day, thinking oh well, I already blew it, might as well completely ruin the day. Now I allow myself to have the occasional 'bad' food but I get right back to eating well for the rest of the day. That has helped me stick to my plan (basically WW) and do OK, instead of being completely rigid and then really blowing it.

The other thing you should know about low carb is that first, you CANNOT cheat, and if you do, you have to go back on it (I stick to 20-30 carbs a day). Also, spread the carbs out and get them from veggies. Two weeks from now, add fruit. Sugar Free Jello is really good too. No pasta, bread, potatoes, SUGAR, rice, etc... Second, low carb is not a temporary fix. You have to think of it as a way of life. It is not something you can go on and off of. You will gain it all back and then some. The idea is to train your body to eat better. You will feel like crap for two days, and then you will feel amazing. Also, portions count, drink your water, take vitamins, and EXERCISE!!! (I sound like the book now ) You can lose a lot...just be careful and be realistic and don't get discouraged. I thought i was stalling, but on low carb, you can have something called metabolic resistance, where you don't lose pounds, but you lose inches, because you are converting fat to lean muscle. Muscle weighs the same as fat...don't weigh yourself for a month. If you want to monitor, get ketone testing strips at the pharmacy. Ketostix by Bayer (behind the counter of the pharmacy) is the BEST....good luck!
