Anyone do a candy buffet as your favor?

I am wondering how much candy you need to buy for about 200 guests. Anyone know??

I am thinking we would get various large vases and fill them up with different assortments of chocolates with scoopers and I can give everyone a cute bag with our name or initials on it.

I LOVE that idea!!! Of course, I am a big candy freak--I think I saw something about it on Martha Stewart's website--That may be able to help you.

That's where I got the idea. But no specifics - I might just have to buy out costco

Thats one of the best original ideas I've heard so far!! 200 guests, that's going to be a lot of candy. I would do a search on the net for wholesale candy and see what you come up with. That reminds me of one wedding I was reading about where the girl gave out those big rainbow circle lolipops as placecard/favors. They came out sooooo cute!! Her whole wedding was candy themed!!

Do you remember anything else about the wedding? My theme is going to be 'How Sweet It Is' and I'm always looking for ideas! I was going to use the big lollipops as table numbers! And I was going to use the candy bar as a part of dessert since I'm already doing favors (wine charm sets with various 'sweet' charms - a hershey kiss, a fudgesicle, an ice cream cone, an ice cream scoop, a gingerbread man, and a wrapped hard candy).

That is such an awesome idea!! My FH wanted something like that but everyone (except me) gave him grief about it not being formal. DUH! Isn't that the nice thing about it! It's not there to be srious but to make you SMILE and remember the day!

Go to a movie theater or a Candy Candy store and ask them what they suggest. You may need to wait until contact with a manger is made but I am sure they can suggest something.

That's a whole lot of candy but a great idea!!!

I am kinda doing that but not a buffet...because if it was me I would take as much candy as I can and leave none for everyone else! Instead I am doing little boxes with assorted candies in it...nothing fancy just yummy candies!

We're not doing a candy buffet, but I am making candy bags for people to take as they leave. I bought most of the candy from Oriental Trading because I wantd stuff that was individually wrapped.

She had the same theme as you. She had invitations that were candy themed. For the cocktail hour she had signature drinks such as the chocolate martini, and the jolly rancher. She also had her menus printed on a thin choclate bar. Her centerpieces I think were candy themed also. And she used the lolipop placecards, and the candy favors. I'll bring n the article tomorrow and give you the full scoop. It was one of the best ideas I had seen, so I kept the article.

Go for it!!! I wish I would have done it for my wedding!!!
