I wouldn't want to do my own makeup for the day of because I would be scared that it wouldn't come out the way I wanted it to. Also, I want to be pampered that day and love getting my makeup done by the professionals.

You should not do you own makeup on your wedding day for a few reasons!
Being a makeup artist myself I can truly say that many girls do not know how to conture or highlight their best features.
Many girls do not know how to use an airbrush machine which is the beat route to go for your wedding day makeup since it last all day!!!!!
Also makeup artist work with special lights that show best in pictures and film.
I know it' can get expensive to get a makeup artist to come to your house but they are a lot of options like going to a salon or trying one of the MAC girls.

I am getting mine done becasue I love the way my hair dresser / make up artist does it. However, some people choose not too. Im pretty sure Kate Middleton did her own make up at her wedding. And she is a Princess!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont know how to do my make up. I mean i can put on blush, eyeshadow and mascara but i cant do it to look great inpics. And i love the feeling of being pampered and having someone do my make up!

I love to do my own and really love the way I do it, but the day of I know I'll be way too nervous. Also, these makeup professionals know how to apply makeup the right way so that it photographs well, they know how to apply false eyelashes, & airbrush makeup! Things that I can not do!

I have yet to find a makeup artist who does my makeup even half decent...I feel like they always smoke or close my eyes.....I have a Russo's pref makeup lady trial in 10 days and then another next month...I don't want to go broke finding a good person!!
I have another in January with a non LIW pref vendor who does great work but I'm scared Im cutting close to my April wedding.....

i don't know how to do my own makeup and didn't want to deal with learning so i had somebody do it for me.
another thing is that if you're very nervous, your hands might be shaking or whatnot ... you might not want to risk it.
but if you are cool and collected and know how to do your own, i'd say to go for it

I think it depends on the bride an dwhat is more important to her, for instance, I left flowers for last because me personally I hate flowers. I think they are overrated, expensive and I will have all the flowers I want when I am dead. BUT MAKEUP!!!!!!!!!!-was the very first thing I booked after the church, and reception hall. I am a make up w h o r e, so to each is own. I think make up is very important (to me at least)

I did my own but only b/c I knew I could do it well. I loved the way it came out and I got so many compliments. If I wasn't decent at make-up I def would have had an artist do it.

I can only do basic makeup applications...like mascara and eyeshadow. On my wedding day I want something more special.

I wear light makeup each day and honestly I felt BEAUTIFUL with my makeup artist. She did my eyes beautifully and my lashes. I tried to use her for an upcoming friend's wedding but she was booked. I just didnt want to be burdened. With nerves and all why not have someone do it. Its a special occassion! Best money I spent!
