I was thinking of having flowers in green with either the pillar candle or a gold candleabra/candle sticks.
What I think would be fun is to do it so that there would be five/six small arrangements - which could double as a favor...the gals at the table could take them home.
I've gotten one quote which isn't too bad, but was just wondering if anyone has done something like this or was thinking of it.
TIA! Leese

Re: Anyone do/doing these types of centerpieces
I saw these yesterday from pics of the WOTY...and I love them...I was just wondering how much the boq'ts would throw me off budget??? I love the looks of the different boq'ts and I'm definately going to see to trying and making something similar towards it...we just don't want to spend alot of money towards cp's or rather flowers...

I got a quote of 15 bucks per hand-tied calla lilly bo-k in the vase.
But I think that that was with me buying the vase (which costs about 3 bucks at Michael's).

Re: Anyone do/doing these types of centerpieces
I did not go to the woty, nor did I see any pictures from it until now, butjust yesterday I bought MANY of the large vases that hold the pillar candle. I'll use them for my CPs.
My hall provides CPs, so I plan to talk with them about making two small, simple arrangements to go on each side of the large vase.
I'm hoping that my cost (over the cost of buying the large vases and candles) will be zero!

Can I ask how much those vases cost?
My hall doesn't provide any flowers, but thus far it seems like a way to go....

I did not go to WOTY either. How are the pearls done? Are they on a string and just wrapped around?

I was in Patchogue Floral Fantasyland yesterday and I was playing with ideas for that exact same pillar and vase idea!!! It looks so great with the pearls/beads in the bottom. I'm thinking of just adding smaller votives around it - 4-6 of them - and some scattered rose petals.

No, didn't have my camera as we went without planning to go. The small votives are about 2' in diameter and are 99 cents each plus the candle and are oval. I will prolly buy them all next month so I can put them together and I'll take a pic then

Another simple CP idea that my friend had at her wedding was to place a clear bowl with floating rose candles on top of a square mirror and scatter rose petals around the table. It really looked classy and is honestly one of the only CPs that I remember from weddings. I have thought about doing this.

Re: Anyone do/doing these types of centerpieces
I talked to Laurie today (she's the one who did that)...and now I am in love with tulips....
I think I will end up spending more time looking at flowers than I will my dress! I am seriously obsessed about it.
The pearls in that center pillar candle were just loose...very cute!

I can just imagine what a mess it would make if someone spilled that underneath a table!!
That centerpiece also reminds me of this one. They are so pretty!! I love the loose beads and pillar candle look!!

Diva - no clue...but it must be a MESSSS!!!! What if that person's FH took a pic of her butt when she was picking that all up??? heheheheh
Anyways...here is more of a represntation of what i am going for - the small green things would be replaced by hydrangea (green)...the tulips would be purple or white or a goldish color.... it's modern, but in my taste...and i think it would be cool for the gals to take pieces home!

Re: Anyone do/doing these types of centerpieces
I was actually thinking of doing one vase and one bouquet as a CP for my RD.. I bought wide mouth vases at Ikea for $1.49- so I like the idea of putting a bouquet in it- it is a different look and you don't have to worry about having a ton of flowers to fill it.. I would make my own bouquets and do like funky. colorful flowers-- but this is for an RD, not the wedding..
I think it has a cool look to it- and I like your favor idea.
i am just growing more and more in love with that centerpiece.
I think I would have two vases of the tulips, maybe a floating candle, small vases of light green hydrangea or the moss - maybe a runner underneath to tie it all together.

Re: Anyone do/doing these types of centerpieces
Diva, I liked the CP with the candles on the mirrors as well. I was thining of doing something like that. However, I'm probably going to have 10-12 on a table on most of the tables and I'm taking this might take up too much space for me. But my hall does provide me with long tapered candles so I can always incorporate that with a smaller centerpeice in the middle. Decisions, decisions!
