Anyone doing Uplighting?

I just called FM and got a quote. I think we are going to add it to our package. I think the Chateau La Mer will look amazing with the lighting around the room at night. If anyone was at TWOTY, they had it and it looked awesome in the daytime.

Do you guys think it is worth it? It is a little pricey, but I think it will make the room look fab!

I think it will be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo worth it!

We are doing blue uplighting with all white CP's to get the full winter wonderland effect!

My florist is doing it though. We also booked FM and I'm going to switch the uplighting for a percussionist! I have to call them about that now that I think of it.

I think it really adds to the abiance of the room and it's somethign guests will surely notice, definately remember, and truly love! It's also something that you don't see all that often!

I'm a HUGE fan! There was no way I wasn't doing uplighting!

This is a question of extremes...girls who are not doing uplighting will say it's not worth it and no one will notice an those that are will say it's worth every penny.....with that said-
I AM ALL FOR IT!!!!

I recently saw photos for a fox hollow bride in my same room and I have NEVER seen the Wintergarden Pavilion look SO amazing. I had been kicking around whether to drop uplighting from my package but after seeing that....I will not- no way. The photos look amazing and it adds to the ambiance as Kerri said.

I sooooooooo wanted the winter garden pavillion room.... but I think my party was too large because when we went to look they showed me the other room.... and we were going there soley for thw garden pavillion room.

I knew the exact look I was going for! And the other room wasn't going to cut it for what I wanted. Although it was a nice room.

Thanks girls...I think we're going to do it. FH agrees that it will look awesome. He was the one who noticed the lighting at CLM at TWOTY! I guess that's what we'll use our $1,000 winnings on. Thanks LIW!!!!

i have a lighting package through the dj..he said its basic lighting..i guess thats not uplighing..

Many times(not all but often!!) if you go through your DJ, florist or whoever its more expensive because they are acting as a middleman for the lighting.... They will rent the equipment from a lighting company and then tack on their fee as well.

No G.... thats the lights on the DJ equipment. Like spot lights and club-ish lights.

Thanks for the heads up Barbie! I actually just spoke to Frank with FM and it looks like they have just started buying their own equipment because this is getting so popular! I did price around one lighting company. Can you recommend yours? Just to get a comparison?

Oh heck- me too!
I'm using Elegancia Entertainment....I want to say my uplights come out to $700? Have to look at my contract.

Are you girls also doing intelligent lighting on the dance floor? Maybe I'll drop that.

I'm working with 2 right now.

One is NY Lounge Decor - because I might get my lounge furniture from them. I'm working with Lori and shes great!

and the other is Luminous Designs.... but they wont do anything for under 2k....just saying... that's what the owner told me.

We're doing uplighting...I think the lighting will change colors throughout the night.

We haven't decided what color everyone is going to see first though.

I worked for our DJ for 6 years so we got a sweet deal.

Kerri, I was JUST watching a wedding show and couple also had a winter wonderland theme and the blue up lighting looked AMAZING....that should be really pretty.

My stance is, if you can afford it, and it will be 1 more thing to make your day special and everything you dreamed of then do it!

I was thinking of doing it as well but then I came across this on the CB website:

'This spectacular room features state-of-the-art ambient lighting that can be controlled by our in-house lighting technician'

so does this mean I shouldn't bother? Well my budget is getting tighter as the day get closer so I likely wont spring for it but I say if ya want it, go for it!

I'm doing it, but I got it through my Florist (Verbena) and she gave me an awesome price! Better than the DJ companies I saw. Try asking your florist before adding it to your DJ contract and negotiate. They may give you a better price than you expect!
