I commute from Centereach to Old Westbury everyday. On average it's about an hour going in, an hour and 15 coming home.
Today it took me almost an hour and a half to get here!! No accidents, no one changing a tire on the side of the road, traffic just seems to be getting worse and worse on LI.......And after the 4 1/2 hours it took me to get home Friday I'm developing some serious road rage! Just had to vent!

with all the time...maybe invest in a learn a language CD!!!

I have and those books on tape, etc. But who the hell wants to stop/go. I have a headache before I even get to my destination!!! Thank God I no longer have a standard shift!!

I have to join in on this one... I am a suffering commuter too!! A drive that should take me 20 minutes from western suffolk to mineola normally take me 45min - 1 hour!! On friday it took me an hour and 45 minutes to get from Mineola to Massapequa -- via Ocean pkwy no less which NEVER has traffic!
What's this about a pack of dogs on the SSP? Thank goodness I didn't take it this am.... I avoid the SSP whenever it rains!

and this is why I do not live on LI!!!
It was the same in Queens when I lived there growing up....adds unnecessary stress to lives that are already stressful enough!
