I have to go for a blood test tomorrow and I am already freaking out so bad!
I always faint and sometimes throw up when i get my blood taken and I dont know how to deal with it. I am soooo scared!!!!
I am thinking of bringing my head phones, turning my head and trying to focus on the music but I dont know if it will work...
Does anyone have any tips?!?!?

I don't like them at all....if you are severly afraid, ask them to use a baby needle...they are thinner than normal needles. My best friend does this because she hates needles so much

Sorry I don't have any tips. What you are doing seems good. You can ask them to use a 'butterfly' needle - it's thinner than a regular one. They don't hurt as much.
You'll be fine. Just keep thinking how quick it actually takes, when you think about it
Drink a lot of water. Being hydrated keep the veins closer to the skin which is better to get blood.
And (I know it doesn't help to say this) but try to relax. The more tense you are the harder it is to find a vein.
I have to get blood taken alot for a med I'm on (every 3 months at least) and to be honest I just deal with it. When you've had interns in a hospital stick you and prod you all the time with IV needles, you get over the scared thing quick.

I'm not afraid of needles (I get 3 shots for my allergies every week!) but my DH is... one technique that helps is taking slow, deep breaths. When the needle is about to be inserted you should EXHALE.... the action will prevent you from tensing up (learned this from a guy who used to do piercings for a living!).

I always ask whoever is giving me the needle to give me a minute or two to collect myself. There have been times I've ran out of the room! I am so scared of needles! But I find that having a minute to prepare helps me get through it. Plus, I NEVER look at what they're doing.

I give needles all night long at work, it's pretty much all I do! Can't give you any more helpful suggestions than you got already though. But holy cow I've seen it all!! Some people scream and yell, I've had to pry 250 lb men with tatoos from head to toe out from under the table!
Lot's of people are very afraid of needles. Don't worry, it will quick, and you'll be so relieved when it's done.
