Anyone else doing low centerpieces

Original post by Iluvpoodles

I am have a small wedding with the max 10 tables, maybe less in a pretty small room. Right now I am getting high and low centerpieces. If I went with all low I would be saving about 400 dollars. For me, I hate the idea of spending alot on flowers when some halls even include them. I saw a wedding set up in the bigger room at my hall that used candleabres as centerpieces and it looked so nice. Since I'm having mine in a smaller room, will low centerpieces look silly. Anyone doing all low or have any pictures to share of a room with low centerpieces in it?

We are doing all low - and we have very high ceilings in the ballroom. Just want something understated and elegant. Garden-y, too. We have perimiter lighting, and I feel like that will help 'fill' the room.

I will be doing low centerpieces.. matter of fact -no flowers! just candles and hurricane vases..etc

I think these florist shops are charging WAY too much money for flowers you wont see after 5 hrs. I went to a wedding Aug 2008 and another Sept 2009 and let me tell you i dont even remember the centerpieces on the table. So with me being a bride on a budget, centerpieces is not something im willing to pay extra for.

I'm doing low...it just was not worth the extra $$ to us.

Flowers IMO won't change anything about the wedding...they don't affect people having a good time. You see them for 5 hours then never again.

ITA!!! save your $400 girl !! ... unless flowers are really important to you...

Personally I like lower centerpieces so you can see everyone sitting at the table and if you are saving $400, I'd say go for it!

Thanks girls. I spoke it over with FH, but he really wanted high, so we went with a cheaper florist who is giving us all high centerpieces and it will still be 400 less as apposed to the other place that was charging 400 more for half high and low. The prices of florists are outrageous.
