for spending so much money on the honeymoon? im treating it like its a once in a lifetime trip for us, but its going to cost us close to $8,000. i feel like we can use the money for some else like a house. o well, i guess i'll get over it when im there and enjoying ourselves

Re: Anyone else feel guilty..
I wouldn't say I feel guilty. I feel more that I want it to be WORTH the money. I don't want to spend all this cashola and travel to the end of the earth unless everything is going to be magnificent.

After planning the wedding - you deserve a lavish vacation if you can afford it!

Re: Anyone else feel guilty..
I have had people who are already married tell me to go & do whatever I really want to do for the honeymoon. This is because you never know what life is going to throw your way in the future and life after kids can change drastically. Hopefully, we all will....but some people do not get another chance to go on the vacation of their dreams.

I feel the same way BUT... on teh other hand FH feels that $10,000 no matter where we go is unreasonable because we can use it for a house this will be one of those arguements i choose to fight hahahahah

I say enjoy yourself. You only have one wedding and one honeymoon, so it is ok to splurge a little.

I have been saving for this trip to Hawaii even before I met FI. I knew I would be going sooner or later and didn't know with who.
So no, I don't feel guilty. I have been saving for this trip since I 21 years old.

Holy Crap - $8,000 is a nice piece of change - and this is the one honey moon you get - but traveling isn't really that expensive. You just have to know how to do it. I just got back from London and the ticket there cost me $187 - before tax. Keep your eyes open and you could find something great. (Hawaii is really expensive though - so $8k would make sence if you are going there!)
