they're planning the entire wedding alone????? I feel like all I do is sit and plan...and I love it...but I wish someone else would share it with me! My FH is an EMT for the FDNY so he's so busy with work and the stress of his job...my parents aren't as 'present' as I'd like them to be (they barely know how to use the internet lol). I have TEN bridesmaids. I have great FILs but I feel all alone in this process. PLEASE tell me someone else feels the same!! What can I do to change this? Everyone says 'oh I'm here if you need me' but I don't know what to ask of them.

I know what you mean.
My FH just says 'whatever you'd like dear'. Yeah, its nice because I get total control, but on decisions that effect both of us, i'd like his input.

ITA agree my mother and MIL would like to be involved but unfortunately have an 'old school' taste than me. My BP I am afraid to give them anything to do...Honestly I am a control freak...so as much as it does get stressful i prefer it that way

I've felt like that sometimes, but I've asked the people around me to choose tasks that they'd want to do.
For instance, my mom and sister wanted to listen to bands for me and FH. We just went to their top 2 picks to listen and chose a band.

I like that idea...but everyone seems to be busy with their own lives. My sisters (MOH and MatronOH) both don't even really talk to me about wedding plans...so I don't bother.

Yes I can totally relate I was so frustrated with the whole planning situation eventually one of FH's Groomsmen spoke with him and now he is helping with everything :)

Thanks everyone! When I wrote my post I saw related posts all the way back in 2003 on this. It seems that this is always how it is. One of my BM is engaged too and I get so jealous because her MOH is SO involved and amazing. It's okay though. Every situation is different! I'm so happy I found this site. Only we understand all of the decisions and excitement and planning involved!

FH is pretty good with helping me make decisions but yeah my sister MOH not so much she thinks i talk about the wedding too much and it kind of hurts my feelings same with my mom. Sometimes my BM's my cousins are into asking me about the wedding but I feel no one cares anymore
