anyone else feel like scrooge?

anyone else feel like scrooge?

I don't know if it's the horrible cold I've been fighting, all the overtime I've had to work or just feeling overwhelmed, but I'm having such a hard time getting into Christmas this year. Usually I'm all excited for it - this year, I'm having such a hard time!

I still haven't decorated the tree - we finally bought it Sunday and put it in the stand, but FH has been working crazy hours and I have been sick but still have to go to work every day so by the time I get home, I don't want to decorate, so I have a naked tree in my living room. I haven't even wrapped a single present yet.

And now, I have to do Christmas cards!!! I told FH I'm only sending cards to people who send them to us this year.

I feel like scrooge - please tell me I'm not alone.....

You're def not alone. Im very tight with money so buying gifts for my large family has not been easily. Im not in the holiday spirit at all.

I'm glad I'm not alone. It's just hard this year - I feel like everyone is a little down due to the economy. I keep thinking that I'll get myself in the holiday mood but I don't even want to bake Christmas cookies! Which is shocking because even though I don't like to bake them so much - I love to eat them!!!

Our 4 year old wanted new games for her DS.. so we went out and got her the 6 games.. no biggie.. it was in the budget.. NOW.. guess what happend yesterday???? Her Friggen DS died and what's worse?? The warranty expired 4 days ago.. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I'm sooo feeling like a scrooge...

It is very hard to get into the spirit this year. I am working 3 crappy jobs and still not making the money I made a my old job. FH just took on a second job so we are like two ships passing in the night. Well at least they are almost over and 09 is less then 2 weeks away and it is OUR year!!!!!

Just a few minutes ago, I felt very Grinch like. I know it's supposed to snow today and you've never seen a bunch of middle school kids act dumber than when they see snow. You literally can not contain them. So as soon as I came in, I pulled the shades down all the way... you can't even see out a half inch! I'm a mean one...

I did at first because we are not buying all the gifts we usually do since we are watching our budget but then I thought about it and realized this might help us focus on the reason for the season..... so I'm back in the spirit of giving whatever I can to whoever needs it

I don't feel like Christmas is this coming week! I got all the gifts... and my Mom decorated... but I'm just soo not in the season this year. I usually loooove christmas, but right now, I just don't really feel it! LOL

I asked my mom if we could cancel xmas this year, she looked at me like she wanted to throw something at me

I know how you feel, money is so tight, especially with me not finding a job that we only bought gifts for the little ones in our family....which still turned out to be about 10 gifts, but better than buying for the whole family.

2008 has been a crappy year

LMFAO Angela, my FH teaches english in a middle school, he said the same thing to me the other day. He noticed it was snowing on Tuesday and he ran to shut the shades before they noticed bc he said his lesson would go down the drain

I love giving gifts, but I DEFINITELY FEEL LIKE SCROOGE because I dont' want to/can't afford to do anything like that this year w/ all the worry about paying for this wedding...

...don't worry - next year and dec. '10 will be better

I'm with all of you!!!!

Christams has been one huge pain this year because of the wedding budget. No christmas bonus this year so theres no extra money to help out with gift buying. It really stinks with the economy now and the fact that i'm making less money than i used to. we're both struggeling to make the payments to the vendors and the holidays are just making it all worse and my credit card bills higher.
To top it off my grandpa is in the hospital and probably won't be home for christmas. and i still have to buy gifts for all my little cousins who I probably won't get to see now anyway.
I think i'm just going to go to dollar tree and get them all little toys there!!!

The bad part of this was when I came out of the building at the end of the day and was like ***! where did all this snow come from? I totally forgot it was supposed to snow a lot!
