their single friends when they got engaged? me and fi had alot of them and now we don't have many couple friends. it really stinks. it's so hard to meet people these days.

me neither. i just know that i would never ditch a friend just b/c they were single or in coupledom.

We're lucky to have a mix of single and couple friends. Either way, there status wouldn't bother me.

I guess I am lucky b/c I haven't experienced lossing my 'single' friends... but most of my friends are in relationships anyway...

Sometimes it's hard for people to understand when a couple moves into 'engaged' territory. They automatically feel that it's over because their friends are getting married. It's stupid, I know, but some have a hard time grasping that a couple wants to solidify their relationship, and that it has nothing to do with their friendships. However, just how you nuture your relationship, you have to nuture friendships. Some people think of it as not just Jill anymore, it's Jack & Jill - and you should still keep your identity. So if need be, try hanging out with your own friends (FH with his own) separately from time to time - to remind your friends that you still value having them in your life.
That's what I do, and we have no complaints about our friendships after engagement.
