Anyone else going thru this? (Long)

Anyone else going thru this? (Long)

I will admit right now that I am a SUPER anxious person! I hate drama and confrontations, even when I am not involved. My MOH and FSIL are both VERY stubborn and strong-willed and I KNOW there is drama going on with them planning my shower and things. I have been pretty good about it and I try not to think about it. I already told my MOH that even after the wedding is over, I DON'T want to know any of the bad things that went on. There is just no point. All it will do is piss me off or make me upset and I will have nowhere to vent it out (except on here LOL). Anyway, so yesterday, FH then tells me that after the wedding is over, he has stories to tell me. I immediately got the nervous stomach/anxious feeling and I told him I don't want to hear them. There is no point. He didn't reply so I don't know if he plans to try telling me anyway, or what. I also don't know if FSIL plans to tell me anything after the wedding. I am just so anxious right now and I can't stop the bad thoughts in my head. I took a Xanax last night and it was a little better and I took another today. I just keep thinking that there will be drama at my shower, or bachelorette party or something. I will seriously lose it if anyone starts anything. I know I am probably just overthinking it (as I always do) but I can't help it. FSIL can be immature and a real b*tch when she wants to be so I can only imagine what's going on. It makes me want to call off the whole damn thing and elope with FH LOL. I'm sure no one else out there can fully understand my anxiety over this - I have always been this way though, and if I could flip a switch in my head and 'turn it off,' believe me, I would. I am contemplating having my mom call FH just to find out what's going on and to reiterate to him never to tell me any of it. I don't know what to do or how to stop feeling this way. I'm sorry this is so long I just needed an outlet for my feelings and you girls are always here. Thank you for listening/reading this.

dont worry, many times there is drama when planning a shower or bachelorette party. Ive seen others going through it. BUT the day of none of that is present and there is no drama at the shower or bachelorette party. People will disagree its natural to happen, but they will most likely put aside all their differences they day of your shower and bachelorette party. So what you dont know won't hurt you and dont let it effect you.

this is a stressful time for a lot of people, but even harder if you already have anxiety. Try to focus on the positive things when you feel yourself starting to think about the negative things. I know its hard, but this should be a happy time for you. Don't let anyone else ruin it! Just focus on you and fh. Are you going on a honeymoon after the wedding? If so, think about that and how relaxing it will be, just the two of you! Feel better and know you're not alone!

Don't be worried. As ou said, thee's no point in anyone telling you any of the drama. It doesn't directly involove you so don't think about it. If others want to create drama let them deal with it themselves.

Thanks, ladies. My mom actually did go and call FH. She played it like I didn't know she was doing it and just explained to him that I have been really upset and anxious and taking meds for it, etc. He told her that he knows how I am and he has no intention of telling me anything, and he told her he would pass that along to his sisters, also. I feel a lot better about things now, knowing that everyone involved will keep it to themselves. I am SO looking forward to our wedding day for so many reasons, one of which is definitely the fact that my MOH & FSIL don't have to deal with each other anymore (at least til I have kids and they'll all be at b-days etc. LOL). Anyway, thank you again!

I have been in a few bridal parties that had a lot of drama - just really really difficult girls....but in the end, when the day of the shower or the day of the wedding came by, everyone shut up, showed up, and did their part.

It's not your fault if these girls can't get along and it has nothing to do with you.

Don't worry, they will work it out and everything will turn out great on the big day!

Also, keep in mind that your anxiety may be magnifying the conflict in your head. Sometimes NOT knowing is almost worse than knowing, because your mind can imagine the worst of the worst. Try to reassure yourself that it's probably nowhere near as bad as you think it is!

Hun - you described me to a T - I do understand. I dont sleep as this crap runs through my head - Ive had eating issues and so much that i made myself sick with the stress..

but give a nod to yourself a nod by setting aboundary to not want to listen or hear anything before or after. Thats very mature of you.

Try to thinkof it this way - this is what i am trying to do. Accept that you cant control, change, or help the all these people around u act. Sh!t is going to happen, be spoken, and acted out by them, infront of you or behind your back. its inevitable.

Just control how u react- and you ARE - and thats so great! - just follow thru by not being anxious- you are half way there by refusing to listen - great boundary you put up for yourself - now just react more postiively -

FInd something to soothe yourself so you arent anxious. It wont happen instantly, but get into the habit of soothing yourself when the anxious feelings come in. Ive been working on it and im still a work in progress - but it will help you I can promise you that....just let the other crap go - they are going to do that whether you like it or not!

FM me if u need to talk!
