Anyone else growing out their hair?

I got a 'short' (just past the shoulder) layered haircut in August, and then freaked and have been growing it out since. It is very long now (to the bottom of my boobs) and it's driving me crazy! I want it to be long enough to wear curly day-of, and extensions aren't included w/ my hair person, so I cant really cut it, but I am definitely going to do a newlywed chop after the wedding!

Anyone else growing their hair out? How are you dealing?

I haven't cut a good chunk off of my hair in probably a year at least!!! It's past my bra line but after the wedding I will cut off a large piece of it b/c it's getting to be too much!

the color is straight out of the box -- I used to go to Maximus and have it done but they kept messing up the color


I usually maintain the color myself in between with Loreal. I really hate doing it myself especially when it gets longer.

I am letting hair grow till wedding as well. I had just chopped to shoulders right before we got engaged!!

I have let it grow a lot longerthan usual for the wedding and plan on really cutting it when the wedding is over. My hairdresser said I have enough now so I keep cutting it so it will maintaiin this length.... I hear you its annoying and FH calls it my nest

Oh god I wanted to chop it off on Friday so badly when I went to get highlights but I knew I couldn't. I can't wait to cut it after the wedding.

I just goy a cut on friday with tons of layers I have no hair left!! I really dont want extensions but I may need them now

I always had long hair..until about 2 years ago. Now I am growing it out for the wedding. It is only just past my shoulders now and already driving me crazy. It is in a clip every day !

there is the tom boy in me... i never wear makeup,never did... prob never will... and i never learned how to curl my hair.. style it or do cute up do's...


I have pretty straight hair... and all I really know how to do is straighten it but it makes it look even LONGER! I accidentally left my straightener in NY and didnt straighten my hair for 3 weeks until I bought a new one, and when I straightened it FH was shocked by how much longer it looked.

Im assuming my hair is long enough where I can figure out the curling iron? Maybe?


see tahts waht i want to do but im kinda scared... i dotn want to burn my hair then have to CUT it!!!

i may invest in rollers that seems safer...

my hair is curly but thick.. so if i put musse in it, it is really wavy curly.. but not the curling iron curls...

maybe someone can put up a how to on here?!


i would get a big barrell curling iron (revlon or conair make good ones). You always have to grab a section of hair with the flip part of the iron on tip... not underneath. so you open the curling iron to the top, put it to the edge of the section, and curl under. if you put it on the bottom and curl under or over you get a fringe on the end.

OR, if you can find them, hot rollers are pretty easy too, but when i used to use them they didn't make the big rollers - they might know. I think the bigger the more natural the look.

Do you trim while growing your hair out or just let it go? I just feel like it's lifeless with no shape. It just hangs off my head.

I usually cut my hair when it's getting caught under my purse when it's on my shoulder lol. I'm growing it out now and it's getting caught all the time! It's driving me nuts!

I hate it!!!! I had it the longest about a year ago and I donated it and chopped it so short so I can't even wait to go back to a bob. I might go even shorter. I have a few days before we leave for our honeymoon so I plan to get it cut the next day or two because I can't stand it! I just keep throwing it up in a messy bun with some spray gel/hairspray and when I take it down it's curly. I think I'm going to straighten it tomorrow...it will probably be so long!

Oh yeah, when I straighten it it looks so long but my hair naturally curls. I think I'm going to start doing that more because it looks so nice at this length. The curly just gets so messy on me!

Ooooh and I really want bangs!!!! Like bad...all of the sudden too! It's funny because I haven't had bangs in years and the last time I did, I cut them myself and they came out pretty good. I keep telling myself...wedding hair wedding hair!!!

YEah, I'd like to do the side swept bang look myself but gotta keep it long. I think after the wedding I'm going to change the color and go VERY different.

I am growing my hair out. Sometimes I get so sick of it, and I cut it... and I ALWAYS regret it b/c I have super super thick hair, and it just needs length to weight it down and look presentable. So I will NOT be making the newlywed chop! And if I say that I am, please remind me of this post and smack me in the head.

See..we leave for our honeymoon the next morning so no time for a cut beforehand! then we fly back here straight from our honeymoon, so I might wait until I'm back in NY for Thanksgiving to do the chop. I guess it will give me time to grow it a little longer and see if I can do locks of love.... I have enough hair for it now, but I can't deal with really short hair...

I am going thru the same thing right now. i cut my hair to my shoulders right before FH proposed, now I'm growing out my hair and i'm miserable. its past my shoulders and super thick. i already told FH the day after the wedding. I'm cutting it all off again so i dont have to deal with it in Disney.

mine is up in a ponytail 90% of the time.

omg.. my hair is longggggggg.. i can't stand it.. i don't even try to 'style' it.. it;s up in a pony or a twisted and rolled up.. and last night i was telling my mom.. i'm cutting the day after my wedding.. before i leave for the HM

i don't have layers because it grew out.. i trimmed about a 1/4 inch from the bottom 2 months ago, i had side swept bangs which i don't even think exist anymore.. and my hairstylist told me.. on the day of, she'll snip it a tad bit if need be..


I WANT NEED A HAIRCUT..
