Anyone else have no life cause they are paying for their wedding?

I hardly ever go out with my friends anymore since FH and I can't afford it. I am so broke all the time. My friends have stopped asking us to hang out. Every now and then we get an invite and then I feel guilty for going out to dinner with them when I know we have so much more money to save for this wedding since we are paying for it ourselves. I end up feeling so guilty that I go home more upset than if I just said no to hanging out with them...but otherwise, I would never see them.
This sucks....then when we go out to dinner, we order the cheapest thing on the menu, the bill gets split evenly between everyone else, and we feel so cheap asking for a separate check.....

BTW: we are going out with them tonight...but now I know FH is gonna be pissed at me for saying yes since we are both behind this month (Christmas put a big dent in our account)

Just frustrated....had to vent to someone...since no one else understands how I feel.....

ETA: I just called and cancelled on my friends. Felt too guilty going out and making FH pay for it.....

I don't think you'll find anyone on here that isn't going through what you are. DH and I explained finances were tough saving for a wedding and would eat our dinner in and try and meet up with everyone later for a drink so we could still socialize. The big thing that we did, was have people over for dinner. If that is even out of the question financially, there is nothing to say you can't invite friends over to play cards or board games and just enjoy a few drinks!

I know what you mean. Yesterday we where o ut all day. We haven't gone out in a long time. We went into the city to a friend's house. She had her husband picked in inexpensive restaurant. They know we're saving for a wedding.

Its hard. we budget ourselves pretty tight. we really dont go out with friends too much. all of them are getting married this year. We try to eat in as much as possible and if we dont we keep simple and cheap.

We rarely spend an extra money, just what is needed. maybe a bit more just because i would go crazy. lol
