Anyone else having small weddings (50-75 people)?

Is anyone else having a small wedding out there??? I was just wondering what reception hall you chose and any that you can recommend that cater to smaller parties, preferably in Nassau county. I'm tired of falling in love with catering halls websites and then calling and being told it is at least a 100 minimum or to try back 6 months before my wedding. Thanks.

Douglaston Manor will do a smaller wedding. So will Cafe on the Green. Those are in Queens.

Also check out Milleridge Cottage (spelling is prob wrong). I went to a great small wedding there. And The Swan Club does have a smaller room that they use as a cocktail hour room for larger weddings that they use for smaller weddings. I went to a wedding of about 80 heads there and loved it.
Also the Coral House is cute and has GREAT prices.

I went to all of these places and told them my # was 75. They all worked with me.Good luck!

We are having 90 people at Venetian Yacht Club. They normally wont take a party of that size but we booked and planned in 5 months. The only down side to that is that you have to take the date they have available.

Hi,

We're having a small wedding as well 65-80, but are still looking for a reception hall. Have you tried wedding sites and services. You can select by location and find a hall. It's great because they give you the capacity for each place. It will help you narrow your search.

So far I'm loving Douglaston Manor, there's a tasting on Sept 14th if your interested.

Originally we were going to have a small wedding ( 80 ppl max) until my mother got her hands on the guestlist. We had booked Leonards of Great Neck when our list was still small, and it wasn't a problem.

We wound up with 84 adults, we had it at the Milleridge Carriage House. We wanted the Cottage originally but the minimum is higher than that. I believe it's either 100 or 110.

Hi,
I had the same problem. My FI and I both have small families and my guest list is a min of 60 and a max of 80.
Many places I called gave me a hard time too.
If they agreed to cater a small party, it had to be an afternoon reception, we were offered the ugliest room they have, reception can only be 4 hours and no Vienecian hour.

Cartlun in Eisenhower Park was more accomadating, but $$$$.
Did you try the Mileridge Inn?

Leonard's was the best for our dollar. If you can guarantee a min 50-60. They can work with you. They even threw in things for me. So far, I have nothing but great things to say about them.

Good Luck!
