FI and I checked out some halls this weekend and are doing lots of searching online. I've called quite a few halls and I feel like 2009 is completely booked. This is crazy! We don't want to wait until 2010

Are you flexible with your date? What kind of hall are you looking for? In June, July and August halls book up very quickly but (in my experience) generally not on Sundays. Six months ago when I got engaged, every hall we looked at was booked in July on Friday and Saturday nights but almost all Sundays(day and night) were still open. We also got a (small) discount pp because they would rather have it booked than not, and a discount on having the ceremony there also. I don't know if this helps you or not because I don't know whether you have your heart set on a cetain type of hall or date/day/time.

What halls have you looked at? Are you looking for anything in particular?
Also, if you're willing to be flexible with date/time than you have more options.
