anyone else not having a birdal party?

OK!! I'm not having a bridal party!! just my sister as my maid of honor and my fiance's brother as his best man. Am I the only one? People look at me funny when I tell them.

My co-worker is doing the same thing, I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all! Especially since MY bridal party has given me nothing but grief from Day ONE!!!! You're better off my dear!!!!!

I'm doing the same thing too. I don't think it's that uncommon.

I am not having a bridal party either!....Actually we are not having a MOH or a BM. It is a long story but on my FI side he has been in MANY weddings and just couldnt narrow it down. When we tell people they look at us like we are crazy! Luckily our families have been helpful in planning so I dont think we are missing out on much!

I too am NOT having a bridal party and I get the same reaction from people. They look at me like I am insane not to have one. I am Greek and traditionally we don't have a bridal party. I think it just adds stress to the whole wedding planning aspect.

OK! So there are others like me. YEAH!! I'm not crazy! Alot of people think it's good to have a wedding party for pictures and to help out, but I'm totally content the way it is!

NOPE...you are not the only one. I am only have my matron of honor and a best man! That's all we needed. (Oh and I can't forget my flower girls!!)

I don't think that you are crazy for not having a bridal party. Your good friends will be there to support you regardless of whether or not they are in the bridal party. And based on the posts that some of the ladies on the board have posted in the past, their bridal parties ended up causing more stress than help!

I'm only having 3 BMs (Fi's sister, my cousin, and my college roomate). One of them will be the MOH also. All of my family and most of my friends live out of state, so it isn't like I would be able to have a really active bridal party anyway. This keeps things simpler -- I don't have to choose between friends and I can afford to pay for their hair, make-up and hotel accomodations!

I am doing the same thing...

My sister is my MOH and his brother is his BM

We are lucky b/c that is everyone in our family (except the parents of course)

I am happy that we decided to do it that way...It was way too tough deciding who to include without leaving anyone out. Our close friends and relatives will be asked to participate in other ways.

I'm doing the same thing just a maid of honor best man and of course my daughter as the flower girl.

We are just having our brothers and my boys. He has one brother as do I. My boys both are ring bearers. We have alot of peoplein our family but the headaches are not worth it. Been there done that.

I am doing the same thing...my sister is the moh my fiance is having a bm and we are having 3 flowergirls (my two neices and his neice)..i was actually engaged before and having a big bridal party....i just felt i needed to do something different and did not want to go down that road again. I think it is a great idea.
