I dont like the bouquet toss/garter thing.
I dont like when the bridal party and family comes out while being announced.
I hate the long speeches. (but do like short and sweet toasts)

I know there's more...just can't think of them right now.

I dislike most of the usual wedding stuff.

We are not having a bouquet toss, or being announced, or having speeches, or having cake. We are having a buffet of homemade pies instead of cake.

My feeling on speeches is that I do not want my family near alcohol and a microphone at the same time ;)

i hate all of that... yes lets point out all the single women and make them fight over flowers in hopes that one of the less drunk single guys catchs the garter and doesnt try and put it up her leg with his mouth. no thanks

this! i feel like the wedding day will be over in the blink of an eye and the bouquet/garter toss just takes up time. I'd rather not have them included.

I probably wont do a garter toss or a bouquet toss.
I also don't want to do any of the parent dances.

The only thing we did was get announced...we didn't do the bouquet/garter toss, nor did we do long speeches. I told my MOH's and DH told his BM to keep things short and sweet because we wanted to get to the good stuff.....eating and dancing!!!!

agree agree agree agreeeeeee......if FH & I could get away with having a wedding without actually even being there I think we would We're taking the approach that it's just a party, and making everyone else deal with it. The only announcements our dj is going to be allowed to make are cake cutting and the father/daughter dance....i don't even know if FH wants a mother/son dance lol. It's just a lot of over the top stuff that doesn't mesh with our personalities.

We're definitely not doing a garter toss but I like the bouquet toss. We are adding a anniversary dance, where all the couples come and dance and you get called off by how long you're married (ex: anyone married less than one day, me and FH come off, etc) then you take a picture and maybe give a bouquet with the longest lasting couple and however many number of years they were married, you're going to be married at least that long!

We did the anniversary dance instead of the bouquet/garter toss. Everyone loved it! I gave my aunt and uncle my throw away bouquet and a bottle of wine. we also took pics with them. A month after our wedding was their 50th wedding anniversary so it was nice to take pics of something to aspire too!

I keep saying to myself, 'I'm going to a big party, and I just happen to be wearing a white dress.' We will be announced coming into the reception, but no one else. FH doesn't want a mother/son dance either.
