Anyone else play THE SIMS?

I have the latest 'vacation' patch installed. Are there any tips or cheat codes you can share?

I was TOTALLY obsessed with the original Sims for a while. But now with law school, I haven't really haven't had time to play the Vacation patch since FH got it for me.

Here's a website that has some cheats. But the best cheat is the 'rosebud' cheat that gives $1,000.

oh I haven't played in a long time...work is getting to me...but DH just got me the vacation patch...

I used to play, too, but for awhile, haven't. What's this vacation 'patch' thing? I only have the original 'The Sims' game, do you need something else to use it?

Oh I love the Sims!!! I haven't got the vacation pack yet but i just bought the unleashed pack last night....looks cute. I can't wait for Sims online to come out.

I'm a beta tester for the Sims Online. I think I enjoyed the single-player version more -- of course they could still make improvements. How fun would it be if we all played together and built a LIW House online. LOL

I used to play the standard version A LOT a long time ago but my DH just got me the vacation patch for our new computer so I have to start from scratch.

Whats this about the online version? How does that work? It must be really slow right?

The Sims Online (TSO) is a multiplayer version of the game. You buy the box ($50) then pay monthly ($10) to be able to log onto servers that maintain a permanent world that you and your 700 closest friends can go play on at the same time. So instead of NPCs (computer controlled players) all the other people you see wandering around are real people like you. If you build a house, other people can come visit it, etc.

For Jenny - The Sims is a PC computer game that 'sim'ulates real life. You control a person as they go about their daily business - work, cleaning, going to the bathroom, cooking... etc.

I play a different MMPORPG.... Dark Age of Camelot.. same idea as sims online, but with like monsters and dragons and stuff.... be careful.. theyare addicting!!!

Hiya mims107. I'm a Ultima Online junkie. There is good reason they call Everquest Evercrack. They are sooo addictive. :)

val I met my FH on UO!!!!!!! I was 'buying a house' from a friend of his and we were introduced!!! We played Atlantic, but we play DaoC now.... hopefully moving on to SWG this winter .... we'll see

Sims Online i think is going to be available in the next few months. I believe it's still in beta right now. You'll be able to build your house and interact with others (kinda like a big chat room). I don't think it will be slow...it will be like any other multiplayer game.

My ex was a BIG UO junkie and his best friend was BIG into DAOC. One of the reaons he's the ex lol.

Sims online - that might be a bad thing. I can just imagine 12 step groups for addicts!! But of course, i'll be on the bandwagon when it comes out.

mims - I think its very cool that you meet your DH in UO. I know of other couples as well.

Shockingly, my husband does not play (and never did).

In terms of the Sims Online, it isn't slow - just a bit unstable at the moment, but thats to be expected for a beta. My complaints have to do more with the content. I was expecting a more interesting economy, and true neighborhoods. It lacks both. You get zapped from one house to another, you can't walk down the block exploring. It is more of a visual chat room then an online world.

this thread made me crack up!! I used to play SimCity3000...it was SOOO addicting!!! My old roomates used to make fun of me b/c I would be in my room on a yucky Sunday for hours and hours!!! What the hell else do you do when your FH is 400 miles away??!! Well, in the move, I LOST my SimCity3000 cd. You guys just made me remember how much I loved the game! Hmmm, nice stocking stuffer idea, don't you think?
