when we got engaged FH's mother and my grandmother both kept telling us to elope.
every once in a while when i mention wedding costs someone chimes in w 'you should have eloped'.
now FH and i are having trouble paying our bills b/c i am out of work w no pay...so what did his mom say during dinner just now???
'i told you - you should have eloped'
i YELLED back at her 'maybe we should have! forget the fact that i've been wanting this my whole life...forget everything WE want!'
the rest of dinner was quiet. i feel bad i yelled at her. but it was just a matter of time...its been making me crazy every time i hear it!

I am sick of hearing 'so when are you getting married again'? and then I tell them for the thousandth time and they go 'oh yeah right' Hows the planning??? meanwhile they asked me that same question 2 days before.. Shows how much they pay attention. WHy do they bother asking if they arent listening to begin with.. Ok Vent over

I know exactly how you feel!!!!! The only person that says it to me is my father.... He wants me to have my wedding and all but he sees how much I am stressing over money... And then I hear... 'you should have just gotten married (the justice of the peace) and then had a wedding a few years later....' Im done with hearing it.. WE want this wedding and WE will do it!!!! Sorry you are going through this... But you are NOT alone!!!
