Anyone else Using A DOC or Planner?

Original post by TheFutureMrsM

I was just wondering if anyone else was hiring a DOC or a planner to help with the wedding.

I just feel like i have so much going on with overseeing the design of our house, and all the other crazy wedding stuff going on.

It seems like this would really come in handy. Having someone who has done this a million times and neither me or my FH will have to worry about a thing.
I also dont want any of my BM's or parents lifting a finger that day either. also to make sure no one gets stuck doing something they shouldnt be doing.

My hall provides one for me. But I dont feel the need to have them.

If I was to do it, I would do the planner as oppose to a DOC, bec isnt the bridal attendant like a DOC??

My DOC is Christine VIola. The different between that and the bridal attendant that the RH provides you with is that your DOC will be with you from the moment you start getting ready till your reception is over. She will be there to help you as you're getting ready, coordinate photos, pay the tips, be in touch with the limos etc. She can basically be 'the bad guy' if you're not happy with the flowers, limo, photos etc. She can speak with you're feeling...

If you don't mind, can you FM me her prices...also isn't 'itslaurie' working there now

I'm working with Melissa from Fabulous Affairs...she's my Wedding Planner and DOC. So far she's been excellent!!!!

well i cant use her if youre using her lol

lol sorry slight blonde moment I had just then

a doc is a little different than the DOC...like the DOC will be there from the moment you get ready, she is also there when you are taking pictures wherever you go, she will deal with your vendors and handle the problem with vendors if anything goes wrong. Plus a bridal attendant many times is around paying attention to other things like their staff over there, the DOC is a little more focused on everything about your wedding overall...and MANY DOC's actually will help you with details before your wedding

DOC is different. They'll be with you as you're getting ready. They'll be calling people if they are late to get you (ie limos, makeup etc) She will bustle your train. She will coordinate photographers and be your 'mouth' if you're unhappy with something at the RH.
Bridal attendant will make sure you have drinks, hor doerves etc but will they have an emergency 'bridal kit?' I'm not really sure. I know my DOC has a kit that includes sewing, stain remover, floral tape etc. She is superwoman.

So with a DOC, will they oversee everything at your reception as well. This is silly but what if my PC table was messy, will they go fix it, bad example but...

Totally. I know Christine would do that. If I was unhappy, she would do everything in her power to make me happy!. She is great.

Thats awesome, good for you!!! Good to know as well. If it gets too overwhelming towards the end, it wouldnt be a bad idea to have someone like this

Oh yeah they make sure everything at the reception is going well and if not they handle it with the BM or whoever they have to. Yes they would fix it

No, I'm pretty confident in our vendors and our plans for the day.
