Re: Anyone else with...
I also have hereditery high cholestrol! I went to the doctor on Friday and my blood pressure is also high also! My OBG/GYN made a big deal about this on my last visit and now this. I don't know what else to tell them-- I quit smoking, I lost 35 pounds. I am 5'5 and a size 8. I am starting an exercise program. I have VERY difficult students this year and I am getting married. So I also am holding off until after I get back from my HM!

Leelee, my mgmr is on some cholesterol lowering meds too. Some people might have it and not know. Guess who found out about mine, my Dermatologist, how scary is that. I took a physical and all was well so my PHC Dr said. Come to find out I was on the brink of death's door, I quickly changed dr's

Re: Anyone else with...
I missed a lot today, so here is my imput.
My dad has high cholestoral and he has diabetis. His high cholestoral is because of the diabetis. He too takes lipitor and has to have his blood monitored monthly.
my mom has heridatery high cholestoral. she has been on medication for years.
i had my blood work done about 8 months ago and my cholestoral was 190. a little high but nothing to be alarmed about. I thus have changed my diet and because of my parents I have to have checkups 2 - 3 times a year. I am due for a check up but I am confident my cholestoral should be lower because I have monitored my diet and cut out a lot of fatty high cholestoral foods.

Re: Anyone else with...
I had the same problem as you Shamma--my old dr. knew about it, she had the results but never said anything about it. I found out about it a few years back when I had my records transferred to a new doctor. I'm looking at this in a positive way..it's better to know then not to know and to do something about it before it's too late. It's so important to stay on top of your health!
