We've been without one since Monday. I called Verizon and they have missed 2 service calls. Tonight hubby called them and a rep said we could be without dial tone until the the 17th!
Then they LIED and said they told me that this morning. Such horse hockey!
This rep claims that there are over 800 service calls that are in cue and its not just us.
Are any of your ladies experiencing this as well? I don't know what to do!
Edited to say I live in Coram (in case there are others).

Verizon showed up today.
They are actually at my house now....no dial tone YET but I am optimistic!
DH is going to call for credit and to cancel our DSL. Stay tuned....

I have to stick up for Verizon here as my DH is the person who comes to your house to fix your phone line. I can tell you they are very busy b/c he is working 7 days a week and 12 hour days. Since the layoffs they are backed up.

because of all the rain we been having a lot of people are having problems with their phone lines. its b/c the lines are old and watre probably has gotten into them.
