So my FH and I just finished our STD's and some how our numbers are higher than we thought. We tried to cut corners and plan to invite certain people without guests etc. Most people are family that we can't cut. I am freaking that we are not going to be able to afford the wedding...Is there anyone out there feeling the same way? Please tell me everything will be okay...

It will be ok. One of BM's just got married 2 weeks ago, and her and her DH paid for everything themselves. She even said the other day she can't believe they did it. She said somehow they were able to pay for everything and it all worked out perfectly!
FH & I have been saving since we got engaged in July-We have all the payments for each vendor ready & sealed in envelopes. We have really been cutting back on restaurants and lounges & cooking in and being low key, we've saved a lot of money this way (plus it helps that neither of us are big drinkers which is mighty cost effective). ALl we have left to pay for is the catering hall-
So my advice is to separate what money you have saved into vendor categories-it helped us realize we had more money than we thought in the first place.

i think we all feel like that ... dont freak out! i just think about all the things we have paid for up until this point and wonder how we did it ... but i know that if we stick to our crazy saving plan we will make it! hang in there ... it will get better soon

I feel the same way. We had no idea how much everything costs . We tried to go with the budget we had but the RH alone threw that out the window. With the economy the way it is I am sure all the major vendors will be increasing their prices real soon. I am not going to have a videographer even though everyone is saying I am going to regret it but that something we have to cut out. I am doing alot of DIY stuff to cut cost. We wanted to invite everyone we know but that has been cut to just family and extremely close friends.
When I went dress shopping I found a dress that I loved but I was not going to get it because it was out of our budget thanks to my mom who said she would pay for my dress I get to have it. Other than that we are paying for everything ourselves. I worry about money everytime I make a deposit on something.
But as my brother always tells me God only puts you in situation that you can handle because of who you are...so I been through alot so I know I will get though this and my day will be beautiful and I am sure yours will too.
Hang in there it will all be OK!!

you really have to have a plan and budget and stick to it. I am very worried. Worried about everything right now esp because the economy.
We are also paying for everything.. I mean everything ourselves... its really hard.. BUT it can be done.... All the weddings I have seen on a budget turn out BEAUTIFUL.. cant loose focus ... its a day of love!

We all feel the same way. I have spent do much money already and still have so much to spend. My guest list is also absurd (we don't know what to do) .
All you can do it take everything one day @ a time.

We're about 4 months out and are scrambling trying to pay for our portion of the wedding, it's really scary, this is no sort of economy to hold a big wedding in unless you have the cash, I thought we did, apparently it's a lot tougher than I thought, we cut, in total, around 70 people from our invite list, we brought our minimum down from 150 to 100, we couldnt keep the list and go to another hall as it;s been booked, and the thing that really stinks is that all we do lately is fight about money, we can't wait until the wedding night, when it's all over and all we have to think about is the honeymoon....which....btw....we haven't booked yet either, no cash for that at ALL!!! You're not alone, but we'll all get through it!

You are definitely not alone...I feel the same way. It's really tough, and the only advice that I can give is to try and negotiate with your vendors if you haven't booked them already...and if you have, just be very frugal in your day to day life, bring lunch to work, don't go to restaurants as often, don't buy yourself new clothes or shoes unless there's holes in your current outfits...etc.

It's constantly on my mind. You just have to trust that it will all come together. Just today I had a total meltdown about it. I just realized how much $$ we are going to be spending in the next 9½ months and almost died!
But it will all work out...somehow.

I think about it everyday!!!! FH and I are about 10K over- budget lol I dont know how we are going to pay for this wedding, but somehow it has to get paid for one way or another. Everything will come together
