First he said no Macarena or Chicken Dance...fine we both agree it's gay so WHATEVER I let it go. Then he said he doesn't want to do the Garter and Bouquet Toss b/c it makes people feel uncomfortable....ok I guess i'm ok with that. I just feel like i've always wanted to throw that bouquet haha but i'll let it go....
So thennnn he says he doesn't want the bridal party to join us in our first dance because: A) It's OUR dance and B) it makes them feel weird. Hmmm we're still discussing this one.
So now he doesn't want a bout on his tux or any of the guy's tuxs.....He says he's going to have this really sharp looking CK Tux and doesn't want to gay it up by putting a flower on it.
Tell me mine's not the only one...........

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
Zoe282-- I AM THE SAME WAY! My FH wants to be involved in everything and I love it....but ONLY when he agrees with me. I am so picky and want things the way I want them but I love that he wants to have a part in things. I'll ask his opinion but then I don't usually take it. I'll nicely say, 'yeah, maybe' and move on. Or sometimes with registry stuff, he will pick out something so awful and I will add it then go home and take it off once he forgets about it. I am so bad!!!!! I feel like it is bad both ways, if you have a fh that's not involved at all then it's upsetting. Although, if you have a fh that is involved, but you don't have the same taste or opinions....that might be worse.
As for this situation, compromise it key. I definitely think they need t wear bouts. I think your wedding guests will think you forgot to order them! hahaha! It dresses it up also! I would suggest compromising and telling him that it is very important to you. Have the guys wear it for the ceremony and then give them the option to take it off after. As for the garter/bok toss.....compromise again. Maybe you can do just the bok toss....there is nothing not classy about that. Then you avoid the garter thing entirely but still get to throw your bok. OR you could compromise on the entire thing.....if you do the garter/bok toss then you will promise not to play any of those line dance songs.
The bottom line is....it is both of your wedding days. However, a girl has waited for this moment all their life....and guy hasn't. So I think he should be compromising for you a little more than you for him. I know that sounds bad because it works in our favor....but oh well! Good luck and let us know how it works out!

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
I never thought FH would care as much as he does about certain things. I just assumed i would get my way with most things because i figured as a guy he couldnt care less- boy was i wrong!! All of a sudden he has an opinion on almost everything ( not always one that i want) and he wants me to run every little decision by him! I mean , i thought it was really nice at first that he wanted to be so involved and it is nice i guess, but its super difficult when you dont see eye to eye and have to come up with some kind of compromise. SO, all i'm really saying is i feel your pain. Hang in there, it will all be worth it!

FH just refuses to conform.....

Have him do a pocketsquare instead of Bout - FH refused - so he got pocket squares and he was happy - i gave him WHATEVER he wanted on the tuxes - he has to wear it -
He doesnt want BP dancing with us either - so I am giving that to him too
I told him ONE group dance Hvae to give the group what they want too - and there are some people who are going to love it and it gets people on the floor
Hes being a PITA with everything else - hes lazy and doesnt like to help! But when he tackles 3 phone calls or runs an errand he feel like hes paid his debt to the wedding and is now a boy scout

yea, I agree but it's his tux's and guys so what can I say. I would hate it if he forced me to wear something on my wedding day so I don't feel it's fair to impose a rule like that on him. It really doesn't effect me but I think it would look nice....oh well
suggest a pocket square - my guys are wearing black ties and vests with the white shirt - and since girls dresses are red - they are doing red pocket squares instead of bouts and he loved the idea when MW presented it to him

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
I had a thread about this a couple of months ago. Girl!!!! You are not alone. I had some serious issues about Church vs. Reception Hall for the ceremony. I had to learn that some FHs can be drama kings when it comes down to wedding planning.
The best thing to do is ignore it. I had to learn how to mentally block his azz out of my mind. When he says something stupid or ridiculous, i just turn off the light switch.

aww...we yeah FH doesnt want to do the dances but he hasnt said anythign about the bouquet and garter toss.
As for the first dance we both decided we dont want our bridal party to join us..we are gonna have 2 songs...one for just us and then another one for the bridal party to join and then everyone else.
But fh is being a pain about the song picking!

I am trying!!! He is telling me that it's the exact opposite, that it's gay and doesn't look classy at all
This is him: 'I'm wearing a 'HOT' Calvin Klein suit and you want me to put a 'FLOWERRR' on it?? CMON BABE!'
and this is me:
Just tell him if he's really bothered by the bout, you'd be more than happy to start looking into coursages for him

nope mine has his moments too! he is puerto rican & wants to do salsa for our first dance and I want it to be a slow dance, so we keep arguing about that
I told FH that I would learn to dance tango for our first song (he's from Argentina) and then I realized that I have no time for lessons and I'd have to change out of my gown and slip into a more fitted dress. So then I said no and he was like 'what do you mean?!!!' By the way, I think it would be hot to dance salsa during your first dance! What else? FH wants to pick out his own tux without me present (hell no) He is dead set against having a mongrammed letter on the cake (I really want it) He wants to spend like 40 on his ring (but almost bought me a 2200 wedding band?)

OMG- are you marrying my FBIL..everything is gay to him. I told him the other day its ONE day and its not even his day so go with the flow and shut the F up.
Tell your FH that my FH is wearing a CK tux with a HOT PINK ROSE AND GREEN HYDRANGEA boot...he's super gay
We arent doing group dances or bo-k garter, but are doing the anniversary dance.
He has to compramise too!!

you are not the only one....we had a silly fight last night about how DMX is not an appropriate artist for a wedding....There is enough obsenities (sp?) in his song to knock my grandmother out of her chair
These are times I think 'we should have eloped...'

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
I thought I was going crazy. Fh has been really helpful with all the planning but he has had his moments. 2 of my sisters friends who both have amazing voices offered to sing for our ceremony, He said no, because it was going to be too 'extra', and thats not us. That was a HUGE fight, in fact our first wedding related fight. Then he says he want to wear a WHITE tux #1 MY dress isn't even white, it's ivory #2 Who Frick wears a white tuxedo anymore (really surprised at this because FH has a great sense of style) #3 This is your wedding not your communion or baptism

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
Yes mine is the biggest PIA!!! I wanted to dance our first dance alone. He disagreed with me and said we had to have the bridal party dance with us because our song is too long. Mind you HE chose our song
He wanted plasma screens and I didn't. He won that one also. He tells me he doesn't care about flowers but has the biggest fit he has a rose boutinere (sp?).
He complains that I ask his opinion and disagree with everything he says and that I shouldnt bother asking him then. Thats why I branded him Groomzilla If i disagree with him Im bridezilla. Geesh
