First he said no Macarena or Chicken Dance...fine we both agree it's gay so WHATEVER I let it go. Then he said he doesn't want to do the Garter and Bouquet Toss b/c it makes people feel uncomfortable....ok I guess i'm ok with that. I just feel like i've always wanted to throw that bouquet haha but i'll let it go....
So thennnn he says he doesn't want the bridal party to join us in our first dance because: A) It's OUR dance and B) it makes them feel weird. Hmmm we're still discussing this one.
So now he doesn't want a bout on his tux or any of the guy's tuxs.....He says he's going to have this really sharp looking CK Tux and doesn't want to gay it up by putting a flower on it.
Tell me mine's not the only one...........

If nothing else, you'll save money by not getting the gm flowers!

My FH doesn't say anything b/c he knows whatever it is I will not go for it. As for the bout. he has to. Its tradition and classy. I do agree with your FH on everything else. Let him know that you would really like him to wear it. Get him with guilt. That usually works. LOL

I am trying!!! He is telling me that it's the exact opposite, that it's gay and doesn't look classy at all
This is him: 'I'm wearing a 'HOT' Calvin Klein suit and you want me to put a 'FLOWERRR' on it?? CMON BABE!'
and this is me:

Honestly, my FH has very few opinions on anything wedding related...which is good in a way, because I can do whatever I want. But sometimes I wish he showed more of an interest in these types of decisions.

Mine has been ok but will not do garter/bo-k. Well he said he would do it but doesnt think it is classy! He left it up to me so I just x-ed it.
Also he did not understand the need to hire a videographer or calligrapher! Arghhh! Had to fight on that one!
Boutiner is a must for the jacket though!

Good Luck with everything- my FH just keeps saying that sounds nice, ok no problem, This is driving me crazy- cause I really want his input, not that it really matters -lol- but this way we can say he helped.

This is how my FH is. The problem is that if i ask for his imput and I don't agree then i get mad..I suck! lol Your FH can't have everything he wants. I am doing garter and bo-k....but I don't want the BP joining in our dance. I feel like you only get 1 and I don't want that moment taken away from us. My friend did a 2nd dance where the BP danced and everyone joined in after a couple minutes. That was after the 1st dance. As for the bout....I don't get that one. I think they need the flower...

Don't worry you're not the only one going through this stuff. I had the exact opposite problem. I didn't want the bo-k/garter toss; I was thinking more of an anniversary dance, but FH wants to do the garter toss. We have very few single people coming to the wedding so I don't know why he wants to do it so badly.
Why not compromise on the dance and suggest a 2nd dance after the 1st dance? 1st dance can immediately lead into 2nd dance and then this way everyone can join in with you for that one. As for the bouts...well I think he should do it. I don't think it looks bad at all. Maybe let him choose the type of flower that he would think would be ok?

yea, I agree but it's his tux's and guys so what can I say. I would hate it if he forced me to wear something on my wedding day so I don't feel it's fair to impose a rule like that on him. It really doesn't effect me but I think it would look nice....oh well

I wish my FH cared about things like boutonnieres!!! I don't even think he knows what that word is! But like some of the other girls said, I don't want him to care TOO much about things b/c then we would just argue... but there are certain things I wish he would be more into. Men. What can you do!!

Re: Anyone else's FH being a pain in the Rear????
You know, my FH didn't want to wear at bout. either. And at first it bothered me. But nothing HAS to be done, remember that. If he doesn't want to, is it such a big deal? Maybe he'll wear something besides a flower? Like mine is wearing hops and barley - yes, the stuff beer is made of - because he is like a beer aficionado, loves to try new ones, makes his own, etc. It looks like wheat, basically.
I used to get all upset about the small stuff, and then I realized, I have bigger fish to fry. Right now, I;m trying to convince mine to meet with some officiants with me. That's important to me, but may not be to some.
The first dance, in my opinion, should be just the bride and groom. It's a private moment, to me. Plenty of people just make that their OWN dance, no joining in. It can be done however you want - remember that when you are thinking about all of these things!

Mine is being a dope too, don't worry. Every five seconds he is whining about something. Plus, now I live with FMIL so all day I hear the racket from upstairs and the banging and the dogs barking. ARG!

i feel the same way too, we cant FORCE the guy to wear what we want them to wear. Just like you said, you wouldn't want him to tell you what to wear. I would like if fh wore the wing tip collar shirt but he wants the windsor collars, but its what he wants so i keep my mouth shut. I am glad hes that into it, and cares so much about what hes going to wear.
But if you compromise on the bout, just say to him that it means alot to him not to wear a bout to just understand it means alot to you to throw the bok. If he sees youll drop the bout thing i think it might make him happy and then after agree to it, but say the bout part first hahahaha.
GOod luck, plus bouts are such a tiny part. Half the guys lose it or it breaks before the reception and most ppl dont even recognize them
