i LOVED my makeup for epics, but FH hated it. he thought it was way too heavy, and actually used the word clown! so, this weekend, I'm going to get another trial just to show him that it can be done slightly lighter.
anyone else dealing with a similar situation? i feel like he's not realizing that wedding makeup is supposed to be dramatic to some degree.

YES! My FH hates makeup and normally I wear very little. He saw the remnants of my trial make-up about 10 hours after I had it done and he was not happy. Luckily he understands that it has to be heavier for the wedding after I showed him pics of us at another wedding where I had on my normal make-up and looked completely washed out.

No, but maybe because I wear full makeup every single day ....so everyone I know is pretty used to seeing me in makeup.
Honestly, if I were you, I would wear my makeup however I wanted it to look. If you want dramatic makeup, now's the time to go for it! Your FH will think you look amazing either way. I'm sure he won't complain how you look on your wedding day! You will be stunning!

If it were up to my FH Id be wearing no makeup. He hates it. The first few trials I had he hated. He actually came with me to my last trial and loved it but still prefers I just do it myself because I hardly wear any .. I think once he sees you all dressed up he wont think its too much. But yeah - I know what youre going through

I don't think they realize heavy make up is what the models/actors/actresses wear when on camera, it comes up more crisp and clear and your face doesn't appear to be oily/shiny.

FH didn't SAY anything but I remember him asking me REPEATEDLY if I liked it and he looked at my face a lot when I first got it done... but after we got the proofs back for our e-pics he did agree that it looked good in the pictures.

I usually only wear a lil eyeliner everyday so after my trial it was a big difference. Just explain that for the pictures, you have to wear more than everyday makeup

Yes, I have had this exact problem! FH hated my first trial ( I wasn't crazy about it but didn't hate it). I loved my second trial with a second makeup artist but FH hated that too. Felt the eye makeup was far too dark and unnatural. I'm doing a second trial this weekend to change things. What a pain!

FH does not have a say in my makeup, and he has not seen it, I dont wear it everyday and he will def love the surprise.

Yep, he saw my trial and told me he didn't like it, that I looked too fake and that he would rather just have me not wear makeup which ofcourse, isn't going to happen! That's why I plan on going with traditional, airbrush was just too heavy for me and I chose not to get much shimmer on my eyelids. But, what do they know, they throw on a tux and their ready!

YES! my FH keeps saying that I look like a clown! he doesnt like when I wear colors and likes just a little bronzer. apparantly I am naturally beautiful to him -
I just keep trying to lighten it up though and see what I can do

freakin guy hated it.

FH hates it. when i got my makeup done for my brother's wedding he didn;t like it (too heavy), and he didn;t like 3 of my trials! finally the 3th one he said okay, and we kinda convinced him he has to suck it up because for photos i need the makeup done! he also was a bit iffy about my makeup for e-pics but came around.
i think boys don't like knowing that sometimes we have to work to look that good....

Yes, I had Andrea from Lolaloves make-up do my 2 trials and my wedding day make-up. I asked her to tone it down for the 2nd trial, FH liked it then. I did decide to go a little heavier on the day of (last minute) and he didn't say anything to me and I'm happy the way it photographed....
