Anyone else's FI giving them a hard time about money

I want to have the wedding that I have always dreamed of having and all he keeps talking about is how much money we r spending and ho we could be putting it to better use. HE even keeps calling it 'my shindig'. I actually think that we r ahead of the ball. We have our house and we r trying to pay for everything as it comes so we aren't in debt. But he still keeps b**ching! Does anyone out there feel my pain or am I alone? Thanks,

have you told him how important the day is to you?
can you compromise on some things so they aren't as expensive.
i can see both sides of the story here....it's a tough one!

I do feel your pain, my FH wanted this wedding, I wanted to elope or just live together forever, and now that we started planning this, we have had unfortunately alot of stress with money, lost teh E ring etc, we broke off the engagement because we were stressed, weddings are sooooo stressful!!! hang in there, it does get better..things calm down and you realize exactly whats important!!! hang in there!!!!

My FH was the same way in the beginning. But somehow he has changed along the way and gotten into the whole planning process more and more. And now as we get closer he wants to be involved in everything. I hope he starts getting into it soon!! Good Luck!! If he sees how important it all is and how much it means to you, he'll come around!!

I UNDERSTAND!!! at first, FI was stressed, when we saw the total.. now, he understands and wants it as well. It's hard for a man, to understand we're paying 30,000+++ on a wedding. To them that is a new car, a motorcycle.. to us, it's our day. and he'll get over it.. Once he really see's how happy you are.. it'll all be ok. wait until he see's you on your day.. He'll forget about the money..

At first I was more cautious when it came to how much the wedding is costing, now he is coming around and realizing that I was right!! Don't worry, your guy will come around when he sees it's what you want. Sacrifice is the game for a lot of us

I've been having somewhat of the same problem. I know it's just a day but still I want it to be a nice day!! It's not our fault everything costs so much!
But he's coming around. I had him start looking at photography and now he's totally into getting really good pictures and keeps telling me we need to up our budget and I'm like no way we can find what we are looking for at the price we want! It's funny how the tables are turned when you get them to make the phone calls and they see what's out there! LOL.
