my mom's going to be wearing a black pant-suit ... i've never seen her wear a dress in my entire life so i think a pant suit is appropriate

anyway, that's black so it kinda applies to your question

I told my mom and FMIL that I didn't want either of them in black. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just wanted them to stand out more.

my mom wanted to wear black but i put a stop to that because my bridesmaids are wearing black.

my mom did wear a black gown to my brothers wedding.

Is your wedding black tie? My mom and I were talking and she's more comfortable in a pants suit rather then a gown and I agree, it's more flattering on her as well. BUT we're having a black tie optional affair, so I didn't know if it was appropriate?

And yes, I think black is TOTALLY fine. Both my friends mom and my cousins mom are BOTH the mothers of the bride and wearing black to their daughters weddings.

i don't see anything wrong with wearing a pant-suit to a black-tie event ... if a guy can wear a suit, why can't a girl
