San Juan? Old San Juan? The Rum Distillary? The Rain Forest?

Ive been there about 7 or 8 times........Ive been to all except the Rum Distillery---they're all nice---if you do like to shop, go to Old San Juan, if you want to stay on the beach all day, stay in San Juan.....
Rain forest is pretty too!

OLD SAN JUAN OR THE RAINFOREST
I've been to Old San Juan 3 times and the rainforest once ... both are nice, but in different ways ... chose what type of adverture you would want.
Old San Juan has the forts and shopping and resturants and drinking
The Rainforest is about an hour into Puerto Rico from San Juan ... it's naturewalks and hiking

we were in puerto rico for a few hours.....from 1am to 11am when we got stuck in the airport on our honeymoon.......i dont' think i'm one to suggest places to go to though......didn't have a great experience sleeping on the floor of the airport

Definitely El Junque. I really like Old San Juan and the Fort, but I think that the rain forest is so freaking cool. San Juan is just a strip of hotels and casinos and the rum distillery is overrated, imo. So either Old San Juan or the rainforest. Just remember that when the cruise ships are there, old San Juan is PACKED PACKED PACKED!

Good choice! I will tell you this, though. Hike UP the rainforest and go to the fort at the top. It's AWESOME! When you hike DOWN, that seems to be more crowded and it takes away from the experience. And it does rain, so be prepared.

i went to PR for my HM. Stayed at the Wyndham El Conquastidor in Fajardo. I wasn't crazy about the rain forest , it was pretty but nothing besides birds to see (LOL i thought there would be monkeys etc ) There were none that I saw. I really liked Old San Juan near the fort - very European, pretty.

At the end of our cruise we went stayed in San Jaun a few more days.
We went to the Rum Distillary, it was cool. I thought we would actually go to the factory and see it being bottled and stuff. You watch a movie, go through this museum like building als view various artifacts. The best part was the gift shop and the free tickets for drinks.
We also went on a tour of one of the Fortes. DH is very big on history and war stuff, so he was in heaven. I thought it was pretty good.
We wanted to go to El Junque (rainforest) but decided we wanted to relax the rest of the trip.

Of all the island stops on my cruise, it seems like Puerto Rico has the most things to see and do...Only have one day there though!

If you really like it, you should definitely go back. I've been all over the island, and some of the best parts were the ones that none of the tourists went to. Whichever you decide to do, you will really like it. I can scan some pictures of all the places you were thinking of going if it helps!
Part of our tour was a stop at Luquillo Beach. It was so nice. and they had a little vendor on the beach selling Pina Coladas and Empanadas for $1! The best I ever had....

We are going to PR for our HM !!
The plans currently include: Old San Juan El Yunque Ariceibo Observatory (largest Radio Telescope on the planet)
If I had to give one up -- I'd pass on Old SanJuan. You see one Fort - you've seen them all. I would miss the old churches though. I love gothic architecture. (sigh) Decisions..Decisions....

We stopped there on a cruise and we went to Old San Juan. We went to the forts during the day and then shopping in the evening. When it got dark out they had some performances by the water near where the boat was docked. I also have pictures at home of the forts and stuf. If you want me to scan them let me know.
