Anyone ever else feel like no one gives a hoot about your wedding? I'm not saying I expect the world to stop just because I'm getting married, (I'm not the type of person to think like that at all) but a little show of interest from people would be nice.
So far out of everyone involved there is only one person who is genuinely interested and excited about it everytime we talk and I never really get to see this person because of our schedules.
I don't know, maybe I'm crazy or I'm just having a pity party day (though this has been building up for awhile)
I'm just sick of feeling like no one cares.

awww sorry that you feel that way- everyone does at one time or another... i think its like anything else, people get wrapped up in their own lives and forget to ask about how your planning is going- but they do care and what's more- we all care about your wedding & are here for you!

Haha! I totally know how you feel. Im pretty much planning this whole thing and no one I know really cares. My own mom doesnt even like to talk about it! I was upset at first, but now I cant wait for everyone to see the end result that I did all by myself! I dont mind taking FULL credit!

Re: anyone ever else feel this way?
thanks girls. I guess the part that stinks the most is that it's not even like I expect people who are just being invited to the wedding to really be interested at this point. I'm mainly talking about our immediate family/friends/bridal party. It's like, hello??? aren't you supposed to be the ones most involved and excited???
I don't know maybe I've just reached the point where I'm just disgusted with everyone.
At least I have you girls!

That's what I keep telling myself too, at least I'll be able to say FH and I did this ALLLLL on our own (FH has been a big help and has been 100% interested all along - he really is great!) My mom was the same way at first but right now she is all caught up in my sister's wedding (less than two months away) so I completely understand her not being too concerned with me right now, that's fine. But I feel like with other people I quite literally have to remind them that we're engaged. It's frustrating.

I can completely relate!!
FH are having a rather long engagement- 2 years and 1 month when we finally tie the knot and people just don't care...for so long it has been so far away so no one is that excited. My Matron-of-honor is probably the best about everything though, but sometimes I get upset because I feel like no one else cares. And I'm getting closer!! Finally my wedding is within 4 months.
Hey, but we all care!!!

It's hard when this is the most exciting time of your life and very important people in your life are not sharing in your happiness. It really stinks, but, sometimes people do get jealous, and, sometimes people are just so busy and wrapped up in their own lives to care.... or at least to show that they care.
I've heard many times that during this time, you do find out who your true friends are, and it makes sense.
I hope that things turn around, and people do start showing you that they are interested, and do care!
Plus, you have 100s of brides here to help you!!!

Thats what we have this board for.
I understand where you are coming from, but dont let them get you down. People are busy with their own life and what not. Also, as it gets closer, people will be more interested. To others, its just about one day, but to us, its about a whole year of planning - leading up to that day. I dont think some people understand the excitement of the planning process. Also some people can be jealous.
I always think sometimes people are like 'oh just shut up already about your darn wedding'. So I just tell your girls about my pidly nonsence that non-brides dont understand.

im sorry that you are dealing with that. i cant say i know how you feel bc i dont. but all i can say is that you do have the LIW girls...and just chat with those who are interested. maybe ur family is like that bc it isnt as close as it feels to you.
when it is someones wedding its like you cant wait to go but you dont need all the details...sometimes that is how the people feel.
just keep ur head up..know that you are and ur fiance are excited...dont let them get ya down

Re: anyone ever else feel this way?
it depends....alot of people who are not married., or didnt plan a wedding have NO idea what its like...even all the hype...so it seems as they dont care...but they just dont really know anything about it.

I know how you're feeling!! Especially when it comes to my mom. She feels like we have so much time that there is no need to be concerned about it now. We get into fights every time I go to look at a vendor. She thinks I am getting to caught up in the wedding and not the marriage.
Hang in there. Thats what we're here for!

Just out of curiosity though, family aside (I know they have other things on their mind) but am I the only one who feels like their bridal party isn't even interested?

I have a very small bridal party and 2 out of 3 of them are family. That said, it’s the non-family member who’s actually excited about the whole thing.
Is it possible they don’t seem interested because they’re jealous or something?

I’m not saying that’s an excuse or anything…just maybe an explanation. Either way, it really s u c k s that you don’t have their support and enthusiasm with all this. You deserve it! You know you have all of us crazy girls on here though
