a chest xray? I left work early today bc I wasnt feeling well. The doctor doesnt want me to go to work tomorrow and she wants me to get a chest xray. I'm scared! Is it a long test? Is it closed?

No, chest X-Rays are easy! don't wear earrings or a necklace as the metal will show up on the films. I've had about a dozen or so.
You go into the x-ray room (they vary in size, but it's nothing to be concerned about) stand next to a wall, the tech goes into his control booth, tells you to stand very still, take a deep breath and hold it while he takes the x-ray, usually it's 2 films so you will do this twice.
MRIs and CT scans are usually the ones done in the 'tube.'

thank you sooo much ladies! I am home today, and I couldnt get an appointment... so she made it for Friday...I'm like a baby, I'm so nervous!

I've had two and one of them was an emergency next-day one...My doctor called the place himself to make the appointment--talk about scared! Don't worry they're a piece of cake.

x-rays are a breeze compared to MRIs... though they have 'open' MRIs now, which are much better. Don't worry, you won't feel a thing with X-RAY.. don't be nervous!
