if so, do you know what the weather is like in january?? basically im getting married in september and fh's parents own a timeshare in florida (right down the block where i currently live, i'll be moving back to ny in a few months) and they wanna give us a week there so we dont have to spend the money. may seem nice to anyone thats normal but to me, that ***** because i was really stoked on going to jamaica! so fh now says that if we go to disney for september, we could go to jamaica in the beginning of the year. so i was just wondering if this is a mistake. is it gonna be bad weather? thanks for any help xo

I was in Ocho Rios during a cruise in mid-January two years ago and it was around 85, humid, and sunny. They said that's average for that time of year.

I stayed at the Ritz in Montego Bay and it was amazing!!! We went in October and got a great deal because it was hurricane season and you do run the risk of bad weather. We had fantastic weather, but I guess its kind of a gamble that time of year.

yeah i was looking at the prices and it was about 5k for the room we wanted and about 3500 maybe a little more in september :-/

We went for New Years last year. We stayed at the Sandals Whitehouse. Pictures in my album... as you'll see, it was really hot there & we got a LOT of color. We were at the beach & pool every day. It was in the mid to hi 80s.

We stayed at the Sunset Jamaica Grande in March 2004 for Spring Break in Ocho Rios. It was great and I loved it there, but you are talking about September and I think thats hurricane season. My parents were just there in October 2006 and they had a great time! They got a great deal because its hurricane season, so its hit or miss....but i would def recommend it!

Went to Ocho Rios in Feb 05 and it was perfect. If you like hot and sunny. Wasn't that humid when we went...

I went on a cruise to Ocho Rios...I wasn't on the resort and the town is kind of dirty...but it was the bluest water I have ever seen!
Didn't read the whole post...I went in January and it was hot! Perfect weather but it drizzled a bit in the afternoon!

Definitely keep us posted. I hear good things about it there, but I'm not sure we want to travel 1 1/2 hours after being on the plane.

def don't think Jamaica has any cold weather .. it is near the equater so its always warm .. we went in June and it was extremely hot so i would think what we think is winter would be really nice there .. i love love love Jamaica .. i wish i could go back .. i was there 3 times all different months and it was always beautiful ..

Is it unbearably hot in late July? From what I am reading, I think so. Great, we are planning on going there for our HM is July.
