I just called and found out I have to be in Riverhead tomorrow at 11am. Has anyone ever gone? I'm scared! ha!

I've done it. Nothing to be scared about. Just be upfront with them about your travel plans. It's extremely unlikely that they would be needing you til November. Most cases are a week or two at the most, if you get picked. Good opp to catch up on bridal mags, plenty of time to read.

I had jury duty in Riverhead last year and ended up being picked to sit for a case. It was interesting, but the drive was very long Nothing to be afraid of, I just talked to people and went out to lunch. Oh, be careful driving out there, the cops are always waiting to catch people for speeding by the courts.

OK, back from JD... I got there at 11am and the judge didn't arrive until 4pm!!! Then when she did, they said, 'They picked the final juror for the case and you are all excused for the next 6 years' so basically it was a big waste of time... and I don't get to get picked for a very long time.... :(
