I went to Punta Cana with my FH in May of 2006. We stayed at the Majestic Colonial and we LOVED it! I would def. recommend it! You should look on tripadvisor.com for more details about it. There are great reviews and photos from actual travelers that stayed there. I found it to be very helpful in figuring what to pack and stuff.
You will love the Majestic! It is so gorgeous and clean, great food, courteous staff, beautiful beaches and amazing pool. I want to go back!

we stayed at secrets in punt cana. if ur going to the domincan i recommend puerto plata over punta cana. they're both nice but we took a day trip to puerto plata and it was gorgeous!

FH and I went last May as a graduation gift. We stayed at Sunscape the Beach. The place is beautiful and the staff is friendly. We did a few excursions (horseback riding, ATV riding). It was alot of fun.
I went in 04 as a graduation gift!

I stayed at the Occidental hotel (I don't remember the name of it).
Don't stay there... We didn't have power for about 3 out of 6 days. We couldn't wait to come home!!
DITTO.. do NOT stay at the occidental grand flamenco.. vomit inducing food.. and the power went out a few times!
