well what happened when you were quoted? did the florist write down a description in the quote for you? did you show him pics of what you wanted? and was the sample totally different from that? maybe you can go there with your FH, or parents, or someone and try to communicate what you want so you can get it without having to pay more money for it....im sorry you are disappointed
ets: i asked for a list of everything we were getting for the price we were quoted - its pretty descriptive....like it says how many hanging votives per CP i am getting, and the type of vase etc.

Re: Anyone ever had second thoughts...
i have had second thoughts about every decision i have made about this wedding
if you don't feel confident with your vendor, tell them! they want you to be happy and should work with you to ensure that you are
if you really are serious about switching vendors, read your contract and it should describe their cancellation policy.
i had my sample centerpiece meeting on wednesday and i too was a little disappointed and had some doubts -- it didnt look like what we had discussed (i wanted white with peach, it was just white and there were too many greens -- we paid extra for very full centerpieces). the owner actually came out to work with us, retooled the centerpiece and made it beyond perfect, EXACTLY what we wanted and was so nice about it too. they took digital pictures and made me a copy, and really went out of their way to make sure we were happy.
don't be afraid to tell them what you want. they [should] want you to be happy!

that is true. the reason many florists are so flexible with budget is because they will just take out flowers or use more of the cheaper flowers/filler to bring down their costs. some people want that, others dont -- or don't realize.

Re: Anyone ever had second thoughts...
I know for me, when I don't feel comfortable with someone I freak out. But with a month left you might be asking a lot of a florist to do the whole thing, especially since it's busy season and you might not be able to find someone who is free. Plus you'll lose money on your deposit.
I would try to work with the florist and be a pain about trying to get what you want and even if you have to sit with them while they change it and point out flowers you want instead of things they are trying to give to you and ask about cheaper flowers or different containers that might change up the look.
Good luck!

Well, what did he quote you for? If its not what you want, then he should be doing it over until you like. He shouldnt be charging you for adding more flowers. Afterall, you arent paying for leaves! you want flowers. If you dont have faith in your vendor, I would go with someone else, if you can get out of it. Maybe if you threaten your vendor with leaving he will just do the flowers the way you like them.
If not, you can call Rose (Designs by Rose). She is in Howard Beach and works out of home. I've heard good things about her. Here is her email ... she is very resonable.
Also, I dont know where you are, but Metro Flowers in Astoria Queens is cheap and their flowers are amazing!! My gf used them for her SI wedding and they were out of this world.

NO!
What does your contract state about your CPs? THAT is what it is-he cant charge you more money just b/c he didnt pay attention to what you wanted from the beginnning-he has to follow thru with what is on your contract!!!!!!
If you are really uneasy about him-start looking around, see if you can find a replacement before actually cancelling your contract

Thanks girls! My contract says Ivory roses with gold foliage. I also made sure to tell him I didn't want A LOT of green showing, and he said that although you can't cover all the green, that there won't be much showing. But when I saw my CP, it was sooooo green :( Roses are not an issue b/c i knew that there was going to be 30 roses in my CP, i just didn't realize that he was going to put about 4 or 5 gold leaves..i thought it was goign to be filled with gold leaves since my theme colors are ivory and gold...instead my roses look like Green and Ivory with hints of gold, instead of Ivory and gold with hints of green.
did you take a pic of your sample CP? i took lots of mine and showed her what I wanted changed and/or added etc.

Re: Anyone ever had second thoughts...
I made it clear to my florist at the first meeting that I wanted almost no green..it just doesnt work with my navy blue and ivory BP. As for your issue...what about fighting for your rights...I think mentioning LIW may help..no one wants bad press on a sight that helps so many LI vendors!
