i've never heard of it before, but i really like the idea. now i have to start checking the streets for books to read

I have. I keep checking to see if there are any left near me. I was thinking of leaving a few somewhere, we have too many books.

I like that idea.
The Cold Spring Harbor train station has that sort of thing. There are books on a rack and people are encouraged to take a book to read and return it, or leave a book in its place. I think it is cool.
Not as random as I think Bookcrossing is.

I wouldnt pick up a book left in the subway, though. Wouldnt that be considered a 'suspicious package'?
