Anyone ever lose your faith?

Original post by xjulietx

Not sure if this is considered PC to talk about and if I will be opening up a can of worms but...

Has anyone ever felt like you had lost your faith? The religiou beliefs you grew up with didn't feel that strong? Maybe you began to doubt God a bit?

I was raised Catholic and got married with a full Catholic Nuptial Mass and recently between my job loss and my grandmother's passing, I haven't felt close to God or feel any really strong connection to my faith.

I know a lot of people don't have a religion or maybe don't practice it, but those who have a strong faith, have you ever felt this way

yes....same as you I was raised catholic and attended mass every week, attended all Catholic schools and became disillusioned by catholicism. I don't like all the rules, etc and the sex scandals...I have recently focused more on spirituality as a whole vs. following the 'rules'. My DH and I considered attending a different church, such as Presbyterian because they focus a lot on community activities etc. My only concern is having my child baptized - i'm not sure what we will do.
