OOh, I remember the fog. But for some reason it didn't phase us. Brentwood was a crazy marching band. A lot of our members went on to join drum corps. We performed in rain and snow. I can actually tell a 'one time at band camp' story in which we had practiced all week, from 8AM to 10PM (with only dinner breaks) and when the last day of camp came and all of the different schools were supposed to perform, it was pouring. The field was a muddy, slippery mess. All of the other bands decided to skip the field show and go inside and just play, but not us. We INSISTED that we perform in the rain. I can still remember this 10 years later. Sometimes I miss being a part of such a great group. Just a bunch of kids from a town with a bad rep, who wanted to prove we may not have had the newest uniforms or the most expensive instruments, but we wanted to be the best.

Sigh!

That was always such a fun night. But freezing too. I was in Kings Park playing flute from 88-92. We were never all that good but it was fun!
Band Camp over the summer was always a blast too. Band Geeks rule.

Did everyone play at Giant's Stadium for the finals too? I think they were in November each year ... It used to be SOOOOOOO COLD with the winds whipping around the stadium and the colorguard girls always had these stupid outfits!

hey, jan05bride...I liked out outfits. Cute little black dresses (OK pollyester sucks-but when I was captain I made sure we shortened them ), gold sequine wrist & waist bands, and black and gold cowgirl hats.

As I remember the band was always in the way, I smacked a flute player once with my flag, because all season she was always in the way and off beat, oh on accident 'of course'

we played at a island/ranger game in 1992

We were in band the same years (1990-1994) ... not sure if you remember SFP's outfits ... we had the blue Smurf outfits - turquoise blue leggins and an empire blue top ... so unflattering. Then we got crazy calipso pants with black body suits - those were a little better. Oh and our band was in red and royal blue ... there was no matching at all!
The blue smurf suits were the worst!

I remember the Black and Gold, those outfits were nice!

OMG, yes!!! I always paid attention to other schools guard teams. I agree, that was bad!

Yes, I played at Giants Stadium for the CMBC champs. It was SO cold there.
