We blocked rooms at the Fox Hollow Inn but wanted to give people another less expensive option.

I was just curious if anyone has any experiences with the Best Western that is nearby.

TIA!

I have never stayed there, but we blocked rooms there for our wedding. The rooms were very neat and clean. The staff was always nice when we went there to see the rooms and ask for info. I also like the look of the lobby, its country cuteish and it made me feel like I was on vacation LOL.

Vicky,

How much are they charging for the rooms? I am getting married a week after you and hope that the prices will be the same. Thanks!

We went to a wedding at the Fox Hollow a few years ago and stayed at the Best Western instead of Fox Hollow because it was SOOO much cheaper. We had no complaints!

We stayed there a few times while planning our wedding, and I blocked off rooms at the Best Western and the Fox Hollow Inn.

I have no complaints about the Best Western! They were really helpful in getting all my guests to and from the airport as well.. they have a shuttle van and arranged for cars the Monday after the wedding. Rooms were really clean and service was great.

I haven't checked out their prices yet. I will definitely let you know when I do!

Okay, not to sound completely stupid, but what goes into 'blocking' rooms. Is there any form of payment required? I'm not sure exactly how many rooms we're going to need before and/or after the wedding and I don't know how I should go about this. We'd like to offer our guests the option of staying somewhere close to Fox Hollow but not spend too much. The Inn is where we'd typically like to stay, but for one hundred bucks less, we can stay down the road.

Also, how do you deal with OOT guests and getting them to the ceremony site if it's in a church and not at the reception site?

Thanks hmpena, hopefully they will be the same quote!

Hi Christine...welcome to the boards! The fox hollow inn and the best western had very different booking policies. You don't need to put any money down but you do need to leave a credit card on file.

FH and I did the fox hollow inn together. The policy states that 50% of the rooms must be booke dby a certain date or else we will be responsible for paying for them. The date for us is Dec 7th and we booked 14 rooms. So basically if Dec 7th comes around and only 4 rooms are booked in our block we will be responsible for paying for the other 3. Luckily we already have a few of my close relatives that have booked so I am not concerned with that one.

The Best Western I left for my FH to do - which may or may not have been my best decision! His dad (who is a major BS artist) said he wants to block rooms for his whole family at the best western so FH booked 15 rooms there...after the fact he told me that the policy states we are responsible for 80% of them! I am a little mangled about this in case his dad screws us but FH didn't realize we would be responsible for so many. I guess we will see what happens but that is how the room blocking worked with us.

Good luck!
