Re: Anyone ever taken a pottery class??

I dont know if this helps or not, but I took a few pottery/ceramics classes in college. (I was an Art major). It definitely takes a lot of practice, especially if you want to throw (using the pottery wheel). I actually was better at that than handbuilding. It's a LOT of fun, though, and I really miss it!!! I dont know of any places that have as in-depth classes as that, but there is a place in Garden City called 'Once Upon A Dish' where you can paint pices of already shaped/first-fired pottery, and then they will glaze and re-fire it for you. You pay per piece and per hour... Never been there but it's one of those 'I keep wanting to go' types of places!

Good luck, let me know if you find anything thats more 'start to finish'.
