I know along with the wedding planning comes stress. I have been SO stressed that I am feeling overwhelmed. I have about 6 weeks to my wedding and I wish I would have eloped. I am almost ready to forgo my deposits to elope and say to hell with everything! My FH is not the problem it is my dad, making comments, giving me problems about renting the tux and the 5 dollar charge if anything happens to the tux. The rehearsal dinner dad did not want to pay 2 dollars extra for beer and wine. Wanted me to pay for drinks and I said I would pay the 2 dollars difference per person rather then a separate bar bill. No one is a big drinker either. Dad is not paying for the wedding either, FH and I are. He is paying for the RD. There are other things but that is the main thing. I am just getting SO overwhelmed with everything I can not stand it. I wish the wedding was here already. I went to the gyno and he said my blood pressure was up and asked if I was under stress. I said does getting married in 7 weeks count, he said oh yes. Ladies I want to thank you for letting me vent. Anyone else who is feeling this way... I hear ya!

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Hi date twin! I can't believe we are almost at 6 weeks! I know how you feel. I feel the stress taking a toll on me. I have trouble sleeping and staying asleep. I can feel my heart beating really fast a lot of the time. It's amazing how much stress can mess your body up. I just don't feel myself. I am never one to just cry or blow up, but lately I feel like I can't control it sometimes.
We are also on our own to pay for this whole wedding. His parents at first said they would 'help out.' I have not seen them do one single thing. I am not even going to have a rehearsal dinner because there is just no money left over. I also can't help but wish I eloped or that it was just over with already. I never thought I would feel this way, but I can't help it. People are never happy with my and FH's decisions. Everyone is questioning everything! People are pissed that we said no small children (there would be around 10 and it's in the evening) and my co-workers are pissed I couldn't invite them. We tried to keep it really small and have already sacrificed not having some people we really wanted there. My shower is on Sunday and FH's whole side (except his mother thankfully) said they are not coming. None of them could find a babysitter or had plans. I think they are pissed about the whole no children thing. FH's mom also insisted that we invited her boss. She is a wealthy widow and guess what...is demanding we invite her chauffeur and his wife!!
Sorry this is so long. I guess I needed to vent too. I know in the end all this stress and planning will be worth it. I hope we both look back and laugh at this time. It is true that weddings bring out the best and worst in people. This whole experience has taught me that and showed me who truly cares about me. I hope you feel better!

Thanks! I appreciate it! This is why we are taking a 16 day honeymoon! We are going to Italy and a cruise. We need a lot of r & r to recuperate.
Good luck with all of your planning! After you hit that one year mark, it flies by.

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Well date twin this stinks! LOL I just went out to get something to wear for my shower on sunday and while I was out my mother calls the cell and says well good bye and hangs up. That was because I went to where she works to say hello and when I left she was in the back and I was upset and I did not say goodbye and over an hour later she calls and does that. So if course I bust out crying in the middle of the dressing room because she is spiteful and a pain in the butt. I can not wait for this to be over. It is so terrible to say but this stinks!

God that is insane!!!! The driver??? and his wife???? and to boot your paying for it...That in my opinion is very inconsiderate! By the time you pay for all three people their gifts will barely cover the plates! lol
I thought I had been feeling a little overwhelmed (Im 8 months away) but now I feel relaxed compared to you girls!!!! Just remember its not about the wedding...It's about the marriage and life together...So don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy it!

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Don't worry i was in the same boat as you when it was weeks before the wedding but it was my MIL that was the issue. She would pick at any little thing we were doing and say it was dumb or didn't agree. We just ignored her. That's what you should do. You should just smile and let it be. Just think you will be on a honeymoon away for everyone and youll be so relaxed.

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Tell me about it. I am in the same boat. Work is monstrous and it feels like there is just no time during the week to relax. Weekends filled with wedding stuff. I have even cut back on some ideas to implement, sheerly because I now could care less. I am having a large wedding (236 invited) and I wish I stuck to my guns and we kept it to 200 invites or less. I know the wedding is supposed to be about you and your guy, but it just doesn't feel like it. FH gets annoyed when I say I am tired of planning but I really just am not enjoying this. I am usually very happy and fun to be around. I hope it is over soon so we can enjoy being hubby and wife. I am thinking of having a glass of wine...........right about now!

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
I'm with JBooth....Girl it'll be you and I this time next year! :) listen - i KINDA went through this with someone in the beginning of our engagement - yes, the beginning. Think of all the work you've done and focus on the good stuff. No - you are not going to say 'to hell with it' and elope! if you REALLLLY wanted to elope you would've done that in the beginning. I know it sounds like lipservice, but focus on the GOOD! its ALLLLL going to be ok! actually its GOING TO BE WONDERFUL! take two minutes and write down on a piece of paper 5 things you're super happy about or excited about. then focus on those!
best of luck to you - i'm doing the 'repell stinky people' dance for you riiiight now ! there DONE Keep us posted!

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Awww - I find that wine usually helps too You ladies are def not alone...I think it just feels like that sometimes though because no one else in our lives quite understands what we're going through (unless they've been recently married & the memory hasn't faded). Crying hysterically last week I begged my FH to lose all the deposits and just run with me to Vegas...I've so had it. I meant it too...The thing is, left to our own I get the feeling you gals are like me - FINE. It's when everyone else (besides our FH's of course!) contributes and nags and knit picks that things head south...Unfortunately my only advice is to keep drinking (I know, nice right?) and try to build a wall. I'm still working on mine, but I definitely haven't gotten stomped on this week like I did the 2 weeks prior...it'll work. Good luck with everyone

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
You are totally normal. The last 2 months before my wedding, I was ready to elope and just lose our deposits! It will be a stressful few weeks, but you will survive. Take time away from the wedding planning when you can - even time away from this site if you need it. That will help.
Just remember on the day of to let go of all the stress -- Let your vendors take over and just enjoy being spoiled for a day.
You'll be okay -- it's normal to feel the stress as your wedding gets closer! Just remember to take some NON-WEDDDING time for yourself. (Don't say there's too much to get done. There's a lot to get done and it'll get done. You need to be good to yourself, too.)
It's almost here! Soon it will be behind you!

Re: Anyone Feeling Overwhelmed?
Don't worry, I swear it gets better... I went through it and I was a complete mess but with 9 days to go now, everything gets done, somehow someway, and you will feel better, remember to breath, and take it easy, cause in the end, all that matters is your marrying the man of your dreams!! I never thought I would relax and enjoy this time, but I finally am, and you can too!!!
