Anyone freak out at their first fitting ????

I went to my first fitting today, the dress was too big in some spots and now I am SOOO nervous that it isn't going to look right. Did anyone freak out at there first fitting. I am so scared that it still won't look right after they alter it. I keep having nightmares that I won't look they way I 'imagine' that day......

Don't worry! It will be fine. Trust that your seamstress will do a good job.

I Def did cuz my dress didn't fit (too small). But that's what diets are for. Seamstresses are for when it's too big. Easier to hire a seamstress.

YES....I freaked out at my first fitting, but everything worked out. My dress was huge on me and by the 3rd fitting the dress was perfect. Good luck and I am sure it will all work out for you too!

I totally freaked out at my first fitting. I contemplated going to David's and buying off the rack. I lost sleep over it. I went on a mad diet. It in the end my dress was my favorite wedding day item. I loved it!

I HATED my dress through all my fittings till the last one. Its still not my 'dream dress' but it looks really good. Also, for your next fitting if you're insecure, I'd suggest doing your hair nicely, applying your makeup and in general thinking you look great before hand. Maybe even bring the jewlery or accessories you will be wearing the day of and take pictures. That helepd me, because once I saw it all come together so nicely, I was like ooo ok this is sorta what it will look like. Much better.

This is good to hear because I think I ordered my dress a couple of sizes too big. When it comes in I hope I remember 'trust your seamstress.'

I haven't gone to my fitting yet but I have lost over 40 pounds and am terrified they will not be able to take it in that much. There will be no way I will be able to order a new dress in the time left :( So I will have to trust them to do a good job. for both of us.

freak out is NOT the word. i was downright depressed. i was 100% convinced they would not make the dress look right (it was swimming on me)

in the end--it fit like a glove and i never wanted to take it off!

I totally understand. I had my first fitting last week and the dress was too short and can't be altered because it is a hallow to hem. I was so pissed. I think we all envision everything going perfectly and when it doesn't it breaks our bride hearts. Don't worry it will all work out in the end. Guess what? The most important mind that it is not about the reception, flowers, hair, etc... In the end it is about the two of you sharing your lives together!

thats what I am worried about. I am afriad that it will be huge on me and they won't take it in the right away and it will look horrible.

That's why you have more than one fitting! You'll be fine! It's their job to make you look beautiful! They'd never let you out the door with a dress that doesn't fit!
