Anyone get married (or getting married) at the Picnic House in Brooklyn
I just realized that the renovations on Picnic House in Brooklyn will be finished in March.
Has anyone been married there? They have an exclusive list of caterers - anyone know pricing for catering? I know the hall is $3500 for an 8 hour rental. The place supposedly holds 175 for dinner & dancing. Although we have 195 on the list I'm sure not all of them will show up.

We are still planning to go look at Giorgios at Fox Hill but I am not sure they will be in our price range for September/October 2005.
I hear they are having 'retro' pricing. Anyone have quotes for September/October 2005?

We looked at this space when we were planning in 02. I believe the renovations started shortly after our wedding and were supposed to be finished already..so if they are just finishing now, I would probably be leary about booking them without seeing the finished product first in case its further delayed.
That said, its a nice space and has a lot of potential. Its essentially a very large room so you would probably have to invest a bit in the decorations to give the place a look you want. It does have a fire place which is nice if you are thinking of winter. The bathrooms were a little bit on the smelly side when we were there but Im sure they have renovated. We saw a wedding being set up in there and it looked great.
A wedding that took place there was featured in a Martha Stewart mag...2001 I think.

You might want to check back with them.........they might be totally booked for Oct. When we booked they had only 1 date remaining in Oct. Ours is 11/18/05. If they do have your date available, I think you can get anywhere from 75-95 pp. I didn't look into a Sunday..............
We did see the renovations and they look amazing!! Truely the greatest place that we saw. Food is awesome!! They are also renovating the womans bathroom starting in January to have more stalls and a lounge. It was modeled after the bathroom at the Waldorf Astoria. The construction will be finished by Feb.....hope this helps!!
