Anyone get proofs that don't have writing across them?

I see that some of your proofs have writing across them, whether it is the name of the studio or the word 'proof.' Are there any studios that will give you your proofs without anything written across them? Or is that standard practice? I don't know much about professional photography.

Can you just buy the proofs and scan them in and print them out on picture paper? Is that against the law?

Well any reproduction of something professionally done is technically illegal . . .

My photographer doesn't do that. We used Lina Jang Wedding Photography.

ETA: We own our proofs. They were all digital, so we can reprint them whenever and however we want.

Yes, the photographer owns the rights to the photos - it's copyright law - and you aren't supposed to make copies unless you have permission.

Me personally for ALL of my pictures- no- I don't like the quality of personal printers . . . too grainy. I am very picky when it comes to pictures.

I thought once you bought them they were yours to do as you pleased. I also buy negatives too sometimes.

If you own the negatives, then you can make copies. We will get our negatives after a few years, but until then, they own them and you can order and pay for additional photos. This is something you should ask about when you are booking photographers, some will give you the negatives right away, I think.
