We're looking to go camping in September. Some place not too far away (no more than 2-3 hour drive), has to have real bathrooms and allow pets. Anyone know any places they could recommend?
Sorry, I've never been camping but I dying to go!!! Sounds like fun!
I just got back from a weekend trip few weeks ago. We go every year to kittatinny. it is on the Delaware River so you can canoe or raft. They have all different sites (we get the ones right on the river). We stay at the Barryville base but the river beach are more rustic (i think).
ive only been camping after prom...we went to indian island in riverhead, it was actually a lot of fun...but thats not really getting away off the island

You can try the KOA website... those have all the comforts of home LOL .... Theres actually a campground that I went to in Montauk that was awesome for partying.. Ill see if I can get you the name of that... Or if you want more woodsy, I suggest any campgrounds around lake minnewaska
ang, did you ever find a place? b/c im now looking for one thats not too far from the city 1 1/2 drive would be perfect! we're going columbus day weekend

Why don't you try Wildwood State Park in Wading River? It's great! Plus I live close by and we go camping there all the time! Imagine we had a camping g2g???![]()

Otter Lake Campground in the Poconos. Place is great and complete with very clean and heated bath houses, pools both indoor and outdoor, a nice lake complete with fishing and boating rentals. Check it out!

id so do that... i grew up as a 'roughin it' type girl... last time we went camping... a friend of a friend saw me playing around with my bb gun, apparently didnt realize that i knew what i was doing, and was caught so offguard... like girls cant shoot or something![]()

i went on reserve america and for that place it says no alcohol allowed![]()
My family and i arrange a camping trip every September in Cedar Point way out east. I believe it is north of East Hampton and east of Sag Harbor. I love it there! Sorry i couldn't be of more help to you.
Oh I forgot to mention- in Otter Lake you can bring alcohol. Plus they give you a nice sized site with a fire pit, table, water and electric hookup. It's rated on of the top campgrounds in the country.
