anyone go over budget on their invitations?

anyone go over budget on their invitations?

I went to look at invitations yesterday and the ones that I really adore are about 25% over my budget. Am I being ridiculous about getting these invites? I have this obsession with the weight of the invitation. I hate the ones that feel like a plain piece of paper and this one company(c'est papier) makes extremely thick invites.

we went over budget on ours too..we also wanted heavy invitiations, they were nice and thick, not flimsy or cheap paper at all...I'd say go for what you want...someone once told me that the invitation sets the 'tone' for your wedding...playful inv. set a more relaxed, informal wedding, whereas a very formal/elegant invitation - obvious - is for a formal wedding....so, like I said, go for what you want..and the best quality...

We went over a little on invitations. But...I saved in some other places, so I rationalized it that way. I knew that these were the right ones for us...go for it!

I'm going over what we alloted for invites. The invites are important though. They set the tone for the event. That's how we rationalized it!

I went GROSSLY over budget for my invites! It makes me a little queasy sometimes to think about it! Mine are C'est Papier also. They have beautiful invites, don't they?

I say, if you want it, and you can squeeze it into your budget somehow, than do it. Most people won't notice the difference, but if it makes you happy, than you should!

I did too! I thought this is where I could save, but when all was said and done we spent $1,000.

One thing I noticed about the c'est papier is that practically none of them had the option to have an inner envelope. Do you think that is okay?

I didn't really have a budget on invites because as mentioned above I think they set the tone and are very important. I just wanted to say C'est Papier makes BEAUTIFUL invites!! I love the champagne ink. They were one of our choices. If you can afford it, go for it!!!

I do not have an inner envelope. The woman I worked with at Lion in the Sun said it was absolutley fine, and I think it is. I don't think people will notice or care. But I think I would've preferred an inner envelope because it is more traditional, and it would have made addressing the invites easier, as everyones names would'nt have to go on the outer envelope.
I'm sure you could get an inner envelope if you wanted, no?

No, I cannot get an inner envelope. It is not even available to order one with the invite. Also, I am sure you have noticed that the C'est Papier are Royal size which is a very odd size. I am not overly confident that I could find a quality envelope in that size to fit perfectly. The invitation comes with a outer vertical flap envelope so I would have to find an inner like that as well?

I used C'est papier too and well worth every penny. I sent you fm...

Also, i did not have the inner envelope either but I did have the ivory moire as the inner lining that made up for it.

I used Proper Paper in Plainview...

I was under budget for my invitations....but the thngs I went over budget on (band, photographer) were things that were important for me. So I was able to go over budget and not feel guilty.
The invitations are important to me, but we were able to find invites that we liked at a great price, so we got lucky!!
You can go over budget on one of two things...as long as you can make it up somewhere else.....

My invites are C'est Papier too and I was a little worried about the inner envelope too but i thought about it and i don't think people are going to notice. I'm also going to get the envelope with lining.

That is the lining that I would go with for these invites !!!! The ivory moire. I LOOVVVEE that lining. It is elegant and different, not just a plain color. I would def not get an envelope without a lining.

HILL and Ron, I sent you FM back. Sorry, I did not know your wedding date.
